FISHING REPORT
5/17/13 7:40 AM CST
Ran a charter Wednesday morning. The weather certainly beat the fishing success. The bite still remains slow as we keep trying new areas to see if we can find a pod of any type of fish. My try Wednesday was to fish 15-40 from the harbor all the way to the south end of terrae andre. Got a nice king on a orange/gold pro king on a slide diver by terrae andre and a shaker king on a uv mixed veggies stinger spoon in front of the harbor. The water away from the harbor was 45 degrees with some random baitfish pods in 20ft. The water in front of the harbor is packed full of alewife at 53 degrees. Encouraging to see all the bait and good sized bait. Will be out both days this weekend and will give another report. A report isn't just about your success, but its information for the people who work hard at their non fishing jobs all week and want a little insight from us charter fisherman who are on the water much more often. Good luck to everyone this weekend.

Went out this morning and all we did was wash lures and catch Gnats again...........tried FF and lots of spoons, a ton of bait around harbor area. And a few fish around them. Worked 20-85 FOW. Next time better luck........... Dull

Although, I do believe whattheheck's reply was more honest/accurate. Too tough to judge.

whydoyouhavetobeasmartass? Sportsman, the water is cold yet. Should start getting good mid-June on the piers.

Sportsman2123,

Ya know, I have historically been able to project when the Kings come in with uncanny accuracy over the past few years. This year, I anticipate that they will be available from shore within the next 3 or 4 months or so. Keep post'n to let confirm when I am right again... Wink

Fished this morning with no luck. Didnt fish long the knats were unbearable. Bring a respirator along lol Couldnt even breath at times no joke, and boat was covered. Hopefully next week that will be done. We fished in 30-50 FOW and talked to some guys were out to 280 FOW. KNATS EVERYWHERE! Puke Puke

Tough bite this morning for us. Trolled 20-50 FOW. Managed 2 Browns on spoons, marked plenty of fish tho, worked straight out and north of the gap. The 2nd Brown we caught coughed up 5 alewives behind the boat. Prolly why there not biting great.........At least we got the net wet.

The boat is finally in the water. We decided to give it a try offshore yesterday morning since we haven't heard of anyone trying it yet. We set up in 60 and trolled out to 140 FOW with out a bite or even a mark on the graph. After that we decided to make one pass in front of the piers before we went in. witch resulted in a 10 lb laker on a stinger spoon off the diver. Hopefully it wont be to much longer and the kings will show up!!!!

Water is slowly warming up and fishing is starting to pick up. It by no means is hot n heavy but browns and lakers are being picked up daily now in 25-35ft of water. Stinger spoons in glow colors have been best on riggers and divers.
