badger-I usually put in at the landing off quam road this time of year,Although no pier, it has more sand on the shore than the state park,or williams point landing.I had to launch at williams point yesterday by myself and I much prefer quams road landing.williams road landing is not level and on one side of the landing there is a good size rock that will need to be removed. After I loaded up ,I had to re-align my boat on the trailer when I got near the rock river (piers are still in on the rock)because the trailer was on such a angle at williams point.Parking is very limited at quams.2 people would make it so much easier this time of year.
Rkdiver. I was out yesterday from 9 to 12. On Kegonza . Caught 8 smallies, two 18 inch eyes, 28 inch northern, 2 perch and a 10 inch yellow bass. Ran out of minnows. I had water temp of 47.9 where I was fishing. Wish I had known you were out there. Always nice to talk to a fellow lake-linker
On Kegonsa this morning/early afternoon. Little breezy, water temps ranged for 46.9 to 47.9°F. In 25 FOW bottom temp was 50°F. Was hoping clarity was good enough to shoot a bunch of videos, but while better than last trip out, still not very good. But marked tons of fish, and saw lots on the camera. Gills and Crappies are relating to structure I've found out there. Didn't check any of the cribs but guessing they'll be on them also. Saw two Catfish (different locations) just sitting on the bottom. Swam up to look at the camera and didn't move once they got close until the camera bumped into them. Did see some SMB and one Walleye on the mud flats.
Note, piers at Fish Camp are scheduled to be pulled on Nov. 6th. The restrooms have been winterized and are closed. Longing for the old days when they left the piers in at Fish Camp year round. After someone torched them they started pulling them out. Don't know if that's why they did or what their logic is. But enjoyed being out there in the spring when there was still ice on the lake, but the launch was open. With the river current and rock there don't think I'll be trying to launch there.
