Ice Depth: 1"
I live right by springers. The keg is hard all the way across boys!!! I walked out 15 to 20 ft. from shore and there is a solid 1.5 inch. Only a matter of hours before I will be poppin holes. Time to put the deer rifle away and spool tipups and buy some shiners! I thought this day would never come. I will continue to give ice reports daily. See you on the keg soon fellow icemen!

kegonsa was heavy waves yesterday (Friday). eggshell coating today as far as I can see. If it continues very cold and low winds, should become real ice soon. My view of Colladay Bay is thin coating everywhere.

On Kegonsa this morning, a bit windy out there but glad I didn't hit Mendota! Water temp between 36 & 37°F. Water clarity from 3' to over 20' was definitely better, but still too poor to do what I planned on doing. Did find three pallete cribs off Colliday Point and some logs laying around. Lots of schools of fish, assume most were carp. Only other boat seen was one coming down the river as I was heading in. Love this time of the year, most noise heard was from all the geese! Hope to hit mendota tomorrow. Rick

Anyone been out lately? Curious on how the clarity is. Wanted to get a couple dives in before ice hits but certainly not worth it if clarity is still poor. Thanks, Rick

Conditions: Cloudy Air Temp: 71° - 75° F Water Temp: 51° - 55° F
Late report, looks like it might be the end of the road for soft water fishing this year. Another tough day, but a great one to be out and that's what counts. Saw 6 of the diehard lake fisherman out today, hope the other 4 did better than me and the Kid. I had one keeper gill, bunch of thoses darn little yellows. Last 3 months have been really slow, hot summer didn't help any at all. Time to go sit in the woods and watch for four legged critters. Good luck...............

Got out late Sun morning and had a perch bite that lasted about 1 hour on the south side. Got 6 nice perch - should have got earlier like some other boats who did better. Mon, Tues and today the fishing sucked. Saw haf2fish out. Hope he did better than I did.

Haf2fish. Happy that worked out ok for you. I stopped by the landing to check out how big the waves were and noticed two trucks there and the pier just freshly taken out. thought to myself, "this launch can be challenging even with the pier". Glad to hear of some success; ill be out 9AM-1PM tmrw in the conditions! Good Luck!

Conditions: Partly Sunny Air Temp: 61° - 65° F Water Temp: 51° - 55° F
Myself & Miller Time spent 6 hrs on the lake today, wind pushed us around a little bit but we hung on. Little yellows found us quickly, finely got hid from them and found the perch, had to sort to keep nine, two very nice gills, one was a 10. Waxies worked best on straight lines. While we were out they took the pier out at Quam Rd., luckly we got loaded without a wet foot. Figures first time I launch there this year it happens to me.

Fished with my dad from 1 pm until 4:30 yesterday. Caught almost everything that swims in the lake. Wanted to catch bluegills and perch. Got one perch, no bluegills. Tons of yellow bass near Williams point in 12 FOW. One 13 inch walleye caught there also and a few white bass. Moved to the south shore where we caught one smallmouth bass and the one perch, again in 10-12 fow. Tried the weedline, which is where I caught the smallie, but nothing else. Last fish of the day was a surprise 31 inch northern pike caught on a fathead minnow! We casted cranks on and off throughout the time we were there with no results and this one decides it prefers live bait over our artificials!
Most of the fish were caught on fatheads, but we had a few of the yellow bass on spikes on a small jig, and red worms on a plain hook.
Another multispecies day on Kegonsa! Sure wish I could find some numbers of perch, but at least we caught fish!
Water temperature was 52 to 53 degrees everywhere we went.
