Boom boom. The shack you are describing sounds familiar to the one that was in the bay behind where my permanent ended up. If you were on the north end there were 3 of them against the shoreline. 2 of them on wheels one like you are describing. Unfortunately that was the one that was in the water. South of hickory bay back where spring creek runs out.

Was out last night with a group and got over 40 flags. 12 walleyes, 3 keepers. Had one of my Beaver Dam tip ups blow out of my hole and couldn't find it. The wind was blowing towards Water Works bay so if someone finds it out there message me and I'll buy you lunch. It was an expensive trip. The tip up also had a strike sensor pager on it. Angry

Wanted to post caution on the north end. There is open water now out from Lurch Island. I would say about 150-200 yds out to the middle. If I wouldnt have moved my shanty last night it would be in the bottom of the lake right now. The area is about the size of a house. I did not have anything to mark the area with so please use caution in this vacinity. Also there are 3-4 ice shantys that have blown into the shore in the bay north of breezy point. 2 of them are in the water as it looks like the ice collapsed along the shoreline where these shantys are.

Caught three with the biggest being 17 and 3/4....dang! Got off from the wind.....saw the same camper as mentioned previously that was not on blocks slide across the ice and literally come 10 feet from colliding into a guys truck....yikes knew it was time to get off when we saw that! Fun time if it weren't for the wind. Looking forward to more only 2nd time out on BDL. Hope the guy with the camper wises up. If it were someone in a shanty that came across that camper it would be an awful tragedy.

Ice Depth: 8"
Fished 12-8 friday. Went out with my brother and his friend. The wind was insane. The ice was so slippery that the wind would push me across the ice unless I walked sideways into it. Had 7 tip-ups out, 15 flags 4 walleye, 4 catfish. Missed a few because of the new guys, lost a 30 inch+ catfish, it wouldn't fit through the 6 inch hole. Lost another big one because of a bad knot, which im mad at myself about. 24 inch walleye and 22 inch catfish. Anyone else ever see huge catfish in beaver dam? Pic 3 my friend took a spill saved his drink though lol

I figured they would have a little trouble finding the shanty. If it made it around the point they might still be looking for it. Can't believe they didn't block the wheels. That thing was really moving, I was afraid I might slip under it if I tried to stop it by myself. Hope they were able to find it. It was pretty good size.

Fished with BDW last night. Plenty of action, ended up with 4 Walleyes over 18", 3 Catfish and numerous small eyes. Also lost 3 fish that had good weight on them. Windy and very slick out there but was a great night on the lake.

bdlake30, you answered my question in a round about way...Thank you. I hope that if mother nature ever decides to grab ahold of my precious gear or property that I have the help of 12 friends or strangers to recover my belongings. Looks like you were able to do your part and report the misfortunes of another fellow fisherman or woman though ...Good job.

Friend on the ice,

TKDAWG
