Lake-Link was established so that fishermen could post the results of their fishing Excursion. Either type of bait used type of fish caught,  water Clarity ect. Not the ranting and ravings of people who live to see what they say in print.

Tight lines

It’s called personal responsibility. Simple sense and sensibility. If one isn’t familiar with a body of water, especially where wind, currents, and weather trends affect the ice pack and/or the person is inexperienced in reading ice conditions it’s probably a good idea not to travel unfamiliar territory.

Cheaper in the long run to hire a reputable guide. You not only up the likelihood of getting back to land safely but you’re most definitely going to be placed over fishy water. Shack rental or semi-guided trips are totally reasonable. For me coming up even from Chilton, the cost is pretty much offset by being able to drive a 30+ mpg car versus a 15 mpg-on-a-good-day truck. To say nothing of the crash course education one gets with a good guide who’s willing to teach if you’re willing to learn. But that’s just me.

Tight lines & stay on top!!

How would the even be feasible? If they mark one spot on one lake, you dont think people will want them to do more lakes? Plus, i guarantee there is liability attached if they did start doing that and would be able to get sued.

This also begs the question, why would they not allow people to go out in 8' waves?

It is the anglers responsibility to make good choices and understand the risk they are taking.

We dont need more government agencies to control the decisions we make, we need to make smart decisions ourselves.

MOON PHASE (66%)
Waning Gibbous

I don’t think the DNR holds the responsibility to mark sketchy ice on lakes?  On Winnebago the local fishing clubs mark bad spots roads, installs bridges etc.

Me and my dads buddy saved those 2 people that went threw with that snowmobile. They went thru right where their is always problems and we want to know why the dnr is not doing anything to prevent people from going into the ice around that curve near wave pointe. I was out fishing few weeks ago and he said the ice was safe and was going to be safe for at least 2 weeks and next morning there is 2 cars that went in and I have a recording of him just looking at the car to see if anyone was in there. Sounds like a business to me, 1500 the least just to get a snow mobile or atv out the ice for a motor vehicle is more expensive I heard from the bar. There is always a problem at that perimeter why not put something so people are careful and dont have to go thru a problem that is just treatures like common two 70 year olds we got to do better dnr.

I was sitting in my living room overlooking Little Sturgeon facing NE overlooking Claflin Point a little after 7pm Saturday night. There were UTVs coming in a line around Henderson's when they all stopped at Claflin. Using binoculars I could see their headlights in the open water. Then they all slowly disappeared but not because they were driving away. I called 911. EMS, Sheriff, DNR, and Coast Guard all became involved. Officer stopped to visit me to get more information. When he left, I walked back inside and my wife told me she watched another set of headlights disappear in the same spot.

Coast guard in Milwaukee called me to also get more info. Told him to call me back when it was over and he did. When he called back he said 2 sons were pulled from the water as dad was already on shore. I think this was the second instance which my wife saw. Was very relieved to hear the family was ok. They said I was the only caller they had for this incident

There was no evidence of the first incident that I witnessed. So if anyone has any information I would like to know that everyone is ok.

We walked out to fish Riley's Point Sunday. 17-20" of ice. HOWEVER! The first 12" were honeycomb and the remaining bottom ice was saturated with water. Fishing was slow for the first time all season.

Please Be Careful!

March is here, and with it, warmer spring temperatures and soon, open water fishing!! We are booking trips now for huge pre-spawn walleyes, with a target date for ice-out of around April 1st. If necessary, due to bad weather and ice, we will accomodate and reschedule. I have a few openings in April so now is the time to book a trip. This is the best time of the year for a shot at the biggest walleye of your life, with fish over 10 lbs caught daily once the ice goes out. Check us out in the Businesses section, on our Facebook page, or at our website at www.anglersplusguideservice.com.
