Slayed the white bass out on the river a couple weeks ago trolling a river rig with fly. Power lines on the south side of bridge are usually a decent place to fish when the fish are in the river.

I'm thinking about heading down to Winneconne this weekend for Walleye. Anyone been catching them out there yet?

Windy and cool this week, but still catching plenty of whites. The water temp. has now dropped from 70 Monday, to 56 today. Catching most whites from Lang's south to the gun club. Minnow's are working fine, but we are getting them on flies and jigging spoons too. Easy bite right now. Come on up Smay, and all.

I'm looking for a good place to fish for White Bass, can anyone recommend a spot. This will be the first year that I've fished this lake in years. Any help would be appreciated.

There are still White's in the river, not as tight as the last couple weeks, but still had fun. Water was 66 degrees today. Still plenty of time to get them.

The schools of White's have been moving around in the river in town from the gun club to just north of Lang's for a couple of weeks. The water is cool enough that things should not change too much, even with these warm air temps. Should only get better. Captain Zane has been doing very well.

Thanks for the info. I'm gonna try to make it up next weekend. Sounds like that's when the action will be in full swing. Thanks again for the info. If you see a tracker with 3 kids having a blast that's me

I haven't been out fishing here but did eat at the fin on Thursday. There were no fisherman on the bridge and only 3 boats fishing in the river. Didn't look like much catching was going on.

Did get to witness one of those funny/thank god it's not me moments. A very heavy looking tri hull glass boat was having motor troubles. Boat full of folks and the guy in the front was throwing the anchor to pull them to the fin landing. I bet they buy a paddle before they go out again.

Wow-not any reports in the last 6 weeks! All those boats out there must not be into Lake-link.

Anyway, my wife and I again had a great stay at Langs Landing and again were pleased with everything. Ate and drank at the same local restaurants and waterin' holes and had a good time. Fishing wasn't as good as last time but we still managed to take a few bags of fillets home. Perch, walleyes (including my first hump back) whitebass, and a few cats. And not to mention an ungodly amount of sheeps. Mostly anchored and drifting with Lindy rigs and slip sinkers/plain hooks-leeches and crawlers.

Free air shows the last 2 days as a bonus!

We'll back back in Fall.

Spent the last 2 days/nights with my wife at Lang's Landing.

First off, my wife and I give 4 thumbs up to Lang's Landing resort. Very nice facilities, reasonably priced, convenient location, nice clean rooms, bait, fish cleaning house, channel to moor your boat, beer bar, perfect! And Dennis is a 1st class host. Friendly people. We'll be back for sure. Also have to recommend the Village Pub...great food esp. their smoked wings!

Fishing was very good. We fished mostly around the bridge supports but we did fish Lk. Winneconne too. Moved around a lot. Mixed bag of crappies, whitebass, catfish, sheeps, and walleyes. Jig/minnow combos worked well. Took home 9 bags of fillets!

We also saw people catching whitebass off the bridge. All of the bigger females we caught had eggs yet.

Here's the pic, taken last Friday. This fish was caught in front of Lang's. Thought I've seen it all, but this is a 26" Laker ! Don't know who or how it got in the system, but it wouldn't have made it through the summer. Still catching some walleye, but also many sheep's. Water is up, current is still slow.

Had a great weekend as far as fish are concerned, but weather on the water was not fun. Stayed at Wolf River resort. Economical, convenient and as always easy. Nice just getting in the boat fish and then come back and tie the boat up. Sat night was a bit calm as was Sunday morning but once the wind picked up and it rained we caught plenty of walleyes and white bass. Lots of shorts in the system right now, will be good in a few years. Boys lost a 27 incher or so at the net. We did land a humpback at 26", when I cleaned her she had only one functional eye. Also got a couple of small pike which is good to see coming back around. Cats, crappies, sheepshead kept us busy non stop trolling crankbaits. Had a couple of good meals including a dandy fish taco recipe. Lots and lots of fish in the system and baitfish are down so enjoy the bounty.

The water did come up about 7" after yesterday's rain. We're now almost where we were last year at this time. This should move some of the White's in the system. Some females still haven't spawned out.... I've got a fish pic I will post soon, that was a surprise, taken last Saturday.
