Fished from 3pm to 8pm on the bridge. The weather turned out great. Lots of sheaphead caught on crawlers. Caught my limit with a nice bonus 8" perch! Wolf river with orange floater and leech caught the biggest walleye at 18". 1/8 chartreuse jig and small fathead/rosie red caught the rest. No white bass sadly.

Limit was a little slower coming today but still there. If you Linkers want some REAL tips, flag down one of those big Tournament boats that are flying in (but mostly out of) the river for this wekend's tournament pre-fish. I'm sure they can tell you where the real lunkers are and will probably be very happy to spend some time telling you all they know! We simple, local laymen are just hoping to find our five blind ones for the day. Zero trophies wanted.
I’m looking for a couple of people who would like to fish the Winnebago Chain with me. I have a boat with a 140hp inboard/outboard, electric trolling motor and a kicker motor. I like to fish weekdays in the morning through mid-afternoon. I will only partner with people who live in the area. Please send me a message if you are interested or email me at WinneconneFirsherman@gmail.com

There have been easy limits of keeper walleye every day for the past two weeks or more within sight of the bridge for those who know what they are doing. and that is NOT following the crowd (by location or technique).
Thanks red rockfish for the offer. If you read my report again you will see the dates that I have listed. I agree that prior to the massive cold front this last weekend, fishing was pretty good. On fri 13th my clients had a limit in less than 2 hrs. Then fishing got tough for walleyes on the 14th and 15th. We caught some walleyes but didn't get limits. Didn't fish on Monday. Yesterday we caught a ton of white bass and 5-6 walleyes. All the walleyes we had yesterday were in the last hour of the trip. Water temps crept back up to 55 degrees by 4:00 pm yesterday. Things will begin to get good again.

I'm way behind on reports. The following is a brief summery of my last four trips from Friday the 13th to Tuesday the 17th. I have fished from the mouth of the river in Oshkosh, upriver to Chicos on the wolf. Walleye fishing has been tough for me and my clients. My best two presentations have been dragging crawlers and pulling flies. The mouth, in Oshkosh, and the 41 bridge have been producing a fair amount of white bass and several eater walleyes while pulling flies. Upriver my best presentation has still been dragging crawlers in 10-13 ft of water. In winneconne, it's been a combination of flies and crawlers. Limit catches of walleyes have been tought to get, but whitebass have cooperated when pulling flies. Water temps have began to climb after this cold weather we have had. Hopefully the fishing will get back on track as the weather stabilizes and warms up.
Was out yesterday evening from 3-7 vertical jigging. Landed a bunch of short walleyes and kept 5 14" for tonights fish fry.
* I also caught a nice jigging rod that someone lost recently. If it's yours message me the details of what kind you lost.

Fished monday for 14hrs with 1 keeper walleye to show for it. Got there at 11am. Not a soul on the bridge. Wind and current were great, sun was shining. No eyes biting. Lady at Wolf River House said the weather this year has been very bad. Water temps have been too cold. I also caught 3 small eyes - released. and 4 or 5 white bass - gave away. Dismal year. white bass normally don't show up until mid May!
