Fish are being caught, mainly out towards the channel more though. Not the typical slaughtering that you see but plenty of fish to be had. Now is the time to go before the sheephead invade, as was previously stated. Put in your time and you should get a limit. It has been cool on the bridge with the winds so dress warm. Next weeks weather looks a lot better and with that, the fishing should really pick up as well.

Was there the evening/nights of the 26 and 27, it was very slow., seen a couple fish caught. If you're a local its worth a shot, to drive a distance? I would pass on it.

May 13 is my birthday. I fish on the bridge for many years. When my birthday comes around every year, the only action you will get on the bridge is SHEEP HEAD, SHEEP HEAD, SHEEP HEAD. Its the honest truth. Well as they say, past performance does not guarantee the future results. Good Luck Cool

Fished the rat river and boom bay river drifts on sat and sun. caught two keepers and numerous white bass. Stayed away from Winneconne bridge, too many people and too many attitudes. the people on the bridge seemed busy on Saturday night.

I am for lots of action. Don't care too much about the meat. Are there any white bass action on the bridge yet. Occasional walleye is fine too.

Oh boy......don't even joke about that bridge rat. I got a ear full this morning from some telephone tough guy. He really thought I was guiding from the bridge, and he wasn't very happy about it.

I probably should have stated this in my fishing report, my bad. I was guiding out of my boat. I do not offer guided fishing trips from the Winneconne bridge. I was fishing in the wolf river, within sight of the bridge. This thread seemed like the most appropriate place to report our catch for the day. Hope that clears things up for the people that have had some ?'s and concerns. Thank you and have a great day, now go catch some fish!

Had a 1/2 day trip today with Wayne, Todd, and Dennis. We fished in winneconne for a little over four hrs. We kept 57 white bass today. Action was steady the entire time. All fish were caught on flies. Very few walleyes caught in winneconne this morning. I'm sure this cold front had them turn off for the earlier part of the day. This is a great bite for kids or for anyone that wants to catch a lot of fish. If you're interested in getting out I have open dates in May.

Went last night into this morning. The weather was bad with high winds and a temperature change down into the 40s. Still caught some fish, a little bit of everything but still very slow. The wind pushed most of the people off the bridge a little after midnight. The wind caused the current to pick up so I had to use 2oz weights just to keep it from dragging. Now we just wait for warm weather again. Good luck and tight lines

First time fishing Winneconne. Stayed at the Wolf RiverHouse. Very happy with the lodging. Can't say the same for the walleye fishing 100's of boats and very few walleye caught. People were catching small white bass that I would have thrown back. After little action on Friday evening and Saturday, decided to go up to Fremont.Sunday morning. No Walleye, but absolutely slayed the White Bass. Very big White Bass. Brought home cooler full. Don't wait for Mothers Day, they are in now. Fish the West side of the river where the strong current meets the slower current. Lean toward the slower current. Streamer flys with minnows or 1 16th jig with colorful hair and tinsel worked extremely well. Also tipped with a minnow. I hope this report helps someone. Good fishing to all.
