MOON PHASE (2%)
Waning Crescent

CONDITIONS
Raining

AIR TEMP
51° - 55° F

WATER TEMP
56° - 60° F

Hi all, Was in Winneconne, This last Mon, Tues, Weds fishing for white bass, on the river & the fishing really sucked!! No one was on the bridge fishing. Caught 4 WB in 3 days, threw everthing at then river rigs, rigs with flies, shiner minnows & mud minnows. If the fishing is as good as they say in Freemont, that would be the place to go. Everyone I talked to said the same thing. Need a lot warmer weather.

They were doing decent off the bridge last night.  Fish come in waves but it might be hours between the waves.  Most people on the bridge got fish - some a lot and some a couple - depends where you were set up.  I was in a boat and got 3.  Right in front of me a guy on the bridge got at least 10....ya I know that's too many.   As far as I could see, he caught two or three times what everyone else did but that's fishing. Best time last night was about 9:30 with some spurts every once in awhile after that.

The following report is for the last 3 days and covers the area from the mouth of the river in Oshkosh to the Rat River. I have had some decent fishing the last few days. I have been dragging jigs and crawlers in the rivers for walleyes and pulling flies for white Bass. Water temps have ranged from 54 to 61 degrees at the end of today fishing. The jigs I used were from 1/16 ounce to a 1/4 ounce depending on the depth of water and amount of current. Walleyes are definitely on the move and headed back to the lake. It's been very difficult to repeat successful drifts because the fish don't seem to be holding in any one location very long. Most passes have only produced 1-2 fish and then I have had to move to a new area. One thing I have noticed is the shallower water (4'-8') has been best very early in the day. Once a few boats start working the same spots....it's usually time to move on. As it gets later and more boat traffic shows up, I have had to work some deeper water. (10'-16').  As far as white bass.....they are beginning to move into the shallower areas as the days and water are getting warmer.

there are white bass in Winneconne and Fremont, but your best bet would be Fremont.

Heading up for a day trip on Friday.  Are the white bass better in Winneconne or Fremont?  Appreciate the help, just looking to have a good time and make it worth the drive.
