Smay, Zane, you should be here. Water never hit 80 degrees. Makes for good fishing everywhere in the system. The water level has now just dropped about a foot, after being high all year. Cats have been easy around the bridge. For all you guy's coming up in two weeks, should be great.

Hey Headpopper:

Last weekend the hot color for us was a fly that had red and white hair on it and one that had pink and white. But if one color combo is not working change to different colors, somedays color doesnt matter at all and some days it is critical.

We rig them up like a wolf river rig with a dropper line to the weight that is no more than one foot long. The line that we tie to the fly is 5 - 6 feet. Shorter than that doesnt seem to work as well. Also we usually tie two to three flies on the same line. We have had many occasions when we get two fish at the same time. Now that is a lot of fun.

Good luck.

Fished Friday Saturday, Sunday and monday out of Winnneconne. Stayed at Wolf River house resort. If you want white bass they are still hitting there. pretty much a early moring, and evening bite. We pulled flies, used two fly set ups with a red and white and a pink and white fly.

Most people were fishing in the north side of the bridge, we worked the south side of the bridge, start at the Radtke Barge, stay in 6 -10 ft of water, and go as far south as the tall Pink boat house. Most fish were caught pulling flies working from South to North, didnt pick up too many going the other direction. Fished with my wife, ended up taking 200 + home. Had a lot of fun with a huge Carp (33"), a 5 lb sheep head, and an enormous Sturgeon that broke the net when we tried to get him in for a photo opportunity. Be prepared for a lot of action, for some reason there are tons of Sturgeon in that area right now, had several on the line by accident.

If you have any questions on fishing go over to the Wolf River house resort, they have lots of up to date knowlege of whats happening and where.

Fished from 6-10 Friday night. O eyes. I was the only boat anchored on west side of river. A "professional" guide came through so close to me that he snagged and broke two of my lines and acted like he couldn't hear me swearing at him. WTF? I guess guides own the waters and we should all reel up when they come around!!

I hear ya Uncle Sie. Steady action for us also with floaters in orange, pink, and even the darker green but slow on yellow-chartruese. Not sure what to make of that but I quit using them last couple nights out. Also have been doing much better with 4-6" sinker line than anything longer.

Got my 5 tonight. All 14-16 inch males. Threw back 2 small humpbacks. Seen some dandy fish caught in the low 20 inch range. The action isn't fast and furious but if you have patience fish can still be had. Also caught quite a few sheepshead a few catfish, crappie, whitebass and perch. Hot color was definitely pink. I had 2 rods with pink floater that were getting bit by something almost constantly. My other rod with charteuse went long periods without being touched.
