Just got off the lake started at 6am in 60 fow made my way out to 80ft then worked my way back to around 40 fow with nothing. Then the waves picked up. Basicaly it was a 3 & half hour boat ride. But it was much better then working. Pulled it in when i realised it would have been tough to land a fish by myself in those waves. Ran spoons and f/f combos. Give it a go again 2moro. Going to get the skunk out of the boat one of these days...

Air Temp: 61° - 65° F Water Temp: 40° - 45° F
Started by fishing the midline, that got me 0 fish. I worked my way out to about 80ft and went 15 for 16 in a matter of an hour. 3 rainbows 2 browns and ten cohos. The cohos were all very large. Green/ blue/silver peanut flies with orange flashers and brads thin fin in red/black and purple/pink did the trick. Riggers boards and dipsys were all hit but half of the fish were caught on the dipsys

Well, there are FINALLY some fish around to catch, so finally something to report. Fished the afternoon yesterday with the best trip since the boat went in mid April. When 7 for 12 is the best so far that is saying alot for how tough it was.I am pretty sure it would have been better if the wind would not have howled out of the south making maintaining speed alot tougher trolling into it. All cohos on coho rigs. Blue/black/purple/silver flies took most of the bites on short dipsys set at 12 and 14 LOC. Fish are just starting to show up and will only get better over the next week with really solid reports coming from the south. Fish are scattered. Had bites from 40 to 70 fow. OK, Let's get the season going now! Good luck and see you on the water.

Made it out today in the 'max force' winds. Ha yes I just coined some stupid marketing term for a product that most likely sucks.
Started at the north gap and trolled due south for 3 hours riding the waves. Oddly enough even with the ridiculous winds it was a pretty pleasant ride.
Pulled one brown a bit shy north of the fair weather gap. Rigger down 17 Green Camo PK.

Got out this morning from 8-1130. 2 cohos and a brown. Water was milky every where. Got a reminder of how dangerous the lake can be. A front moved through at 1130. Wind instantly started blowing as hard as I have seen . Nearly spun the boat around. Frantic 15 mins trying to get everything in. Lost one board when we nearly spun around. Thank god we were right outside the harbor. Waves went from a chop to 4 footers in 5 mins.

Good to hear that some fish are being caught and that in Racine they are getting some decent silver fish action. Anyone have a 10 lb rigger weight for sale? It must be round and have a fin. Thanks. PM me.

Late report from Sunday.
Dishes 15-35 fow from 1 pm-5pm. 4 fish. Very weird. One coho, one brown, 2 steelhead??? In 30 fow.
Both hit coho rigs. Strange. Real skinny, not much to them. Great day to be out. Everything worked. Fish came into the boat. Good day.

First time out this year from 3:00PM to 7:30. Set up in 50fow outside north gap, trolled to 75fow. Turned around, trolled back into north gap and in harbor. Not even 1 bump! Ran mix of spoons, small fies, large flies on riggers & dipsies. Only 2 other boats out and radio was silent. Shouldn't be long now!

Got one l laker on a flasher fly on the dipsy rod in 50 FOW near the can. Went out to 60 and back in shallow nothing. Going to be slow going for awhile. Sorry I couldn't offer anything in terms of good info. At least no skunk in the boat and beautiful day.

Fished Saturday morning for a few hours to again pull in some well needed quiet time. Managed to go zero for zero ! It was a smoking hot bite I tell ya even so good that the dog managed to get seas sick. I guess there's a first for everything. Fished inside and outside the wall from the main to the south gaps. With a variety pack of gear. Nice day managed to see an older pair at the dock with one brown.

Got out yesterday - and that's about all I did. The day and the weather was beautiful. The fishing was fairly non-existent. Tried my usual assortment of small stinger spoons, crankbaits, and the occasional coho rig - nothing to report.
Did notice water clarity has greatly improved just outside the harbor.

Decided to catch my peace and relaxation time on Saturday from 8-11 working the mud line (debris, turd, whatever you want to call it...) outside of the main gap. Popped one 6-7lb brown on a dipsy out 40' with a purple magnum PK. Nothing else really to speak to.
As always happy everything ran well and the dog enjoyed her time in the bow.
