Devils Lake (Devils Lake State Park In Baraboo)

Just got the update. Ice is good and solid. Water on top and slick but still solid. I’ll be there in the morning!

Was out last weekend had 7 inches but with this rain and warm I’m sure it’s getting rough on the shore line. My buddy is going to check it this afternoon and I’ll post what he says. I was planning on going there tomorrow too but not going to go if it’s getting too sketchy. 

I'm hoping someone could help me establish the ice conditions at Devil's Lake, Baraboo.  The local bait shop (Get N' Go, Baraboo) couldn't tell me if anyone is fishing there.  The State Park said they don't monitor ice conditions, and didn't recall seeing anyone fishing this week.  My son and I have a three-hour drive and would really appreciate someone with recent knowledge to give a shout out.  Thanks in advance! -Jim

Limit is 3. I had a representative from the DNR come visit us as we were leaving (not a warden, just a biologist) who was taking measurements and asking questions for research. I did learn something new today that they changed the bass size limit out here from the statewide 14 inch minimum to a slot that you can't keep from 14 to 18 inches. So this lake you can keep 12 inch base. I like those even more than trout!

Warmen-unless it's changed in the last couple years,I coulda swore it was 3 and they had to be at least 9 inches.

damn, not a slow day for you two it turns out. I am jealous, drove 3 hours one way, not sure ,if its the crowds, I kinda stayed away from everybody , perhaps you guys hit the spot. I was fishing in the exactly same depth 28-30 feet. What is the limit here, 10 or 5?

I stayed away from the crowds this morning and according to what the last guy reported im glad my buddy and I did! Took two hours for us to get our limits this morning. I got mine on crappie minnows and Rosie reds and my buddy got his jigging. Buddy got one before I was even setup! 28 to 30 feet of water, not that far out.

14 shacks at sun rise, dont see anybody catching anything. Must of been over 20 shacks morning to noon. Managed 1 nice brown in 30 feet of water. Ice 7.5” - 8” where i drilled towards the middle.noon people started leaving , seems to be a slow day.

Look for 1 man Eskimo and 1 man clam. 5" Wednesday
