Thanks guys. I've never been to the area. Appreciate the info. It's gonna be myself, my ten year old son, and my 9 year old nephew who has rarely fished. I'm sure I'll be doing a lot of untangling and stuff lol. That's ok though, i'm excited just to be coming up there!

Are there decent areas to fish from shore? I've never been here. I live in SE Wisconsin, but am heading to Wisconsin Rapids for a bit on Saturday for basketball for my niece. Really would like to try Nekoosa on the way back. Not interested in keeping fish. Just one of the places I've always wanted to try. Any info and suggestions would be much appreciated. Thanks.

Sorry - I get my bait from the BP station in Nekoosa.  Not sure where the Mobil station is. (I'm from out of town)

the bigger fatheads are called tuffys. The bait dealer for are area does not have tuffys yet. He will by the end of March. I tried Ace Hardware  and was told the same thing.

I was wondering the same thing about the small size of the XL fatheads I got from the Mobil station on Sunday.  Prior years they have been carrying minnows that were quite a bit bigger.  Not sure what's going on.

MOON PHASE (64%)
Waxing Gibbous

I fished from the 2nd launch downriver Sunday from 3:30 - 6:00.  About a dozen short walleyes.  No keepers.  Still pretty early in the season - I wasn't counting on slaying them.  34 degree water temp.  Water seemed to be flowing pretty decent, although it was pretty low.  Had a tough time getting my boat back up on the trailer with the low water.  Every time I tried to get the trailer in the water deep enough, one side would drop way down.
