The whitebass are in so thick!!! If you wish to catch them, right now is the time!! People are still killing them every day. Caught about 200+ fish easily again Sun evening. Best bait to use in my opinion is plastic. Anything that mimics a minnow. Live bait is good too but when the bite is HOTTTT, just use plastic. 1/8th jig with a gulp minnow is my ticket.

Fished late yesterday afternoon with my nephew Ethan. Water temp was in the 60s. We fished many different spots from the rock pile out in front of kevin witts bait shop all the way down to yellow banks. Trolled cranks and pitched ring worms. Still a lot of male white bass in the 11 to 13 inch range. The big numbers of females are slowly starting to vanish. Most of the white bass we caught were males. Only a couple out of the 189 white bass we kept had spawn left in them.We also caught a good number of walleyes trolling cranks. Most of the waleyes are small males under 15 inches. Did cats 4 keepers in the 15 to 17 in range Big Smile Big Smile

Fished there for 2 days and WOW, the whitebass are in thick. Almost every cast you get a fish. Right now is the time to chase after them. In both days worth, I probably caught over 200 + fish.

Fished the river today with Thomas (walleyeguy007) Water temp was 52 when we hit the water. When we left late afternoon water was in the upper 50s. Last weeks cool temps had the fish shut down for a few days. Guys are still catching a few keeper walleyes, crappies and all the white bass you care to clean. Today we caught alot of short walleyes, 1 keeper,30 crappies and a bunch of white bass. Male white bass are milking all over when you bring them to the boat. Most of our walleyes, white bass came on 1/8oz jig tipped with ring worm pitched tight to shore over rocks. Crappies came on 1/8oz jigs tipped with Berkley 3 inch power tails.Another thing we have been doing alot is adding Baitmate fish attractant game fish formula to our baits. With the temps on the rise more and more each day it wont take long for the crappies and white bass to spawn. Last batch of crappies we caught a week and a half ago were all spawned out. More white bass and crappies should move in each day. Hope everyone has a safe opening weekend. Big Smile Anyone looking to book a guide trip?? Give me a call i have a few opening for the rest of the season. Big Smile

fabalust -- yes there are many places to fish from shore

NotaFib -- Crappies spawn at the same time as white bass. White bass are up but the cold spell has them on a hold pattern. They should start to bite again as the waters warm this week.

Now i have to say this....if you guys would bother to READ what others post for a few pages--these questions are answered over and over. Did ya want me to catch and clean those fish for ya to? seems ya expect everything else handed to ya -- sorry done with my rant now
