MOON PHASE (57%)
Waxing Gibbous

Water levels are starting to drop some over the past couple days. Water temps have dropped as well.

Water temp at 7 am today was only 39.8 and when we left at 5 pm water temp was only 46.3

Water has cleaned up some. There is good current throughout the northern half of the river, Mainly towards the mill, dam and park area. Down river is not bad.

Was wondering if there is any update on the white bass run? Or general fishing report on the Wisconsin River below Nekoosa. Planning on driving there later today to hopefully catch some white bass for our church fish fry. It is like a hour and a half drive one way to fish there but usually is fairly good fishing.

MOON PHASE (15%)
Waxing Crescent

Pat booked an afternoon trip for Friday to try for some crappies. We launched at Chester's and went out to the channel and down around Brown's Creek and soaked dead rods, and pitched 1/8 ounce jigs. Water temperature reached 58 by the end of the trip. A lot of current in the river. Jesse posted that there are 2 gates open at Nekoosa and looks like it is still coming over the dam as well. As of 6:30 this morning the head water level is less than a foot from being at summer target levels. That's up 8 inches from when I launched on Friday. Pat and I finished the trip with 7 crappies, 4 white bass, 12 short walleyes, 4 large mouth bass, and 1 small mouth.

Keep a tight line!!!

Jerry

Ron booked another trip with me on the nekoosa stretch of river.

We launched the boat at 2 pm and fished till 7 pm.

Water temps were around 52 the entire trip.

Water is back on the rise, between the mill and dam the water is flowing over the point through the trees. Water is still dirty with good current. There was 2 gates  wide open today.

Still a few walleyes around, mostly smaller males. White bass can be caught up and down the river in good numbers.

Find slack water and you will find the fish!

Went out late Wednesday afternoon before super for a hour and a  half. Only myself and two other boats out a few shore fisherman. The water flow has dropped off a lot 15,000cfs to last weekends 27,000cfs. I caught walleyes and cats no whitebass but I did not the spot where I got them on Saturday. We need some sun and a little warmer temps to get the white bass going again like last weekend.

Any tips to find the crappies,I have caught them on the river before but I haven't had much luck at any of my  spots,I think it's due to the high water
