Sounds like a bite us in! Cool... Might be a fun couple of days! :-)
Isn't 10 mile north of plank hill? It is on my lake master. There are sand hills on both ends (north and south of 10 mile).
As far as cats.. shouldn't have too many problems finding them. Slip sinker and minnow will catch you plenty.
Caught about 45 fish today. Mostly small eyes with a couple wb, 4 cats, and a large goat mixed in.
Know this is a walleye thread, but up for a couple days in Central WI so going to try at catch me a cat (channel cat) or 3 on Friday/ Sat. AM... Anyone doing any good? Got a bunch for the fun fightin' that they provide a couple weeks ago... so hopin' the cars are on the prowl! :-)
Tight lines, all!
Can't understand why everyone says they can't catch any WB yet. Sorry guys fished today 10:30am to 1:30pm, couldn't keep them OFF. Didn't want them looking for a few keeper eyes but the WB wouldn't leave my bait alone. Even switched to a floating jig head to keep them off, didn't work, they eat everything. Mostly fishing UL 4lb test lindy rig with red hook. Ended the day, 7 short eyes, 25-30 WB, and a 15lb carp, a blast on a ul with 4lb. The only problem today was the 25mph wind!!!!!!
Got out for a few hours yesterday. Tried everywhere from right below the mill and dam down to the Ten Mile. A few white bass, little eyes, a cat, and a mid-20s eye lost due to my poor net job. Definitely not my best morning on the river but still caught a few fish. I'm done playing with the wb. After getting hundreds of them a few weeks ago I'm not optimistic for anymore of a push up river. Hopefully a few more crappies show up in the river or I'll be playing around more on the lake as things start to warm up down there. Tight lines!
If your looking to get on a good bite for some eyes, try a couple of the sections of river north of Nekoosa. I've been getting some decent fish river! (Photos are from the last two outings up from Nekoosa)
I didn't think the WB "run" had started yet... hasn't been warm enough, and the Lilacs sure aren't showing any sign of blooming, or close to blooming! HA!
2 weeks ago when I was up, the WB were staging at the mouth of the river...
It'll be another week or 2 for the big females to head up... hopefully, that's when I'll be up next! Should be fun.
