Water temp on Memorial Day weekend was 59*F. I pounded the water pretty hard for Smallies and only had one 3.5 to 4# fish to show.

Shimano:

Gotta be in the mid to upper 50's, perhaps some parts are lower 60's...

I am looking to take a trip to fish Plum for smallies. Can anyone give me updated water temps? I would appreciate it very much!

If you want to know ice or trail conditions call the Sayner Pub - that is who I always call before I head up.

Just got home from a week on Plum with the family. Had a pretty solid week. Fished mainly for Walleyes / panfish jigging leeches off of the deep side of the rock shelves / as well as the deeper weedlines. Caught a pile of panfish, 2 slot Walleyes, and some LM, and SM Bass. The SM was fun to catch - super scrappy. Gave everything it had and was just exhausted when we got her into the boat. Snapped a quick pic. and gently moved her back and forth in the water until she took off - did the same with the Large Mouth. Released the panfish into some grease for the family fish fry.

dead sea for me, the heat and flat water probably had something to do with the fishing conditions.

Just got back from a long weekend on Plum. We did well on the panfish - also caught 4 Walleyes. Two were under 14" and the other two were in the slot between 14 to 18" No pics though, it was after dark and I don't have a flash on the cell phone.

Didn't catch any tank Smallies this trip though...

We were jigging a steep rock shelf by a shallower weed line with a slip sinker rig tipped with a crawler half or leech - both seemed to work equally as well.

The weeds on either end of the lake are going to give you the most action. Should find some smallies around the big island. Working the break around most of the lake will produce a few fish, as well as some of the docks. A lot of mid lake structure, but that is tougher to find and fish.

Tight lines,

Steve
