Sorry for the late post. Wondering Was out last weekend and found the eyes. Big Smile They were in 10-14 fow. Found them in the little bay between the overflow camping area and the beach. Also found some over by the rocks across from the beach. Caught tons of gills too. Had a mess of em about 7-9in range kept 15 (for the 3 of us) lots of sorting though. Hope this helps, GL and tight lines Cool

Anything happening out there? What is the water like now, besides being wet? Looking for a place to go on Monday after the crowd leaves. Later Wingdam

There are some huge cribs located across from the beach and huge boulder piles as well spot them move off and cast minnows on slips you should get them ,with the gin clear water they tend to be very spooky.I generally always get them. If not there try the deep weed edges on the south side,Green and purple mini mites on 4lb will work too. Cool

Went last Friday for about 3 hours. I think I kept about 16 big gills. Found a few here and a few there. Didnt fish real hard but had fun. Water was very clear. You could see fish everywhere even though they would not bite. I was bringing in a small perch and had a nice nothern following it which was cool to see.

We had 81 kids at the Angler Education Day yesterday and they had a great time. The weather held off til we were done for the day. Thanks to the parents for bringing their kids to this event and thanks to the committee and the donors. A huge thanks to the staff at Blackhawk for making the event a success and for all the running you did for us. Steve Big Smile

There is an Angler Education Day on June 5th at the lake. If you have youngsters that would like to try out fishing, bring them to the lake; registration is at 8am at the beach shelter. Children MUST be accompanied by an adult. There are four educational session that must be attended, a noon fish fry and then fishing until the youngsters are sick of it. Bring your own equipment if you have it or it will be provided. Refreshments and snacks will be provided. A park sticker is required to enter the park. See you Sat. Steve Big Smile

Camping and fishing over the weekend, the water is gin clear and has plenty of weeds. We managed to get around 40 gills in the 8 inch range but had to do alot of sorting all on leaf worms in 3 to 4 fow. A few nice bass on Sizmic Toads. We saw so many dandy fish but no takers. Bass are done spawning, gills are actively spawning but the beds are difficult to find.Honestly it is like fishing in an aquarium it is frustrating seeing big pike, walleye and bass with no takers.Good luck to you all. Cool

A little bit of everything biting on Sunday. Bluegills were hitting best on big red worms, pretty much everywhere on the lake. Same story with largemouth, was getting them everywhere, mostly on leeches. Walleye were also hitting on leeches under slip bobber, not making the location public though. If you'd like to know, pm me.

I would assume that since the lake sits in a valley and they had 3 inches of rain last week give it a few more days and she will clear up. Great Lake will be there next Thursday, good fishin Cool
