Crazy weather this year i believe is affecting fishing along with low fish populations.I have been fishing Pelican for 26 yrs and this year is by far the worst ever.I only put 1 walleye in the boat in May which was released the days when i would 30-40 eyes in a day are just a memory now.I f you want to catch walleyes i would suggest a different lake bass and bluegill populations are good but the recent cold weather moved them out of the shallows.Good Luck Toothy
The ice went off last week Sunday. The lake is ready to fish. We went out for 2 hours last Sunday but caught 0. I was surprised the water temp on the west end was 53 degrees. Unless my graph was off. Hope to get out next weekend.
Thank you for the update, I was hoping the ice would be gone, really wanted to get the boat out. I guess I will have to bring the trout rods. Hopefully the creeks wont be to high and fast. Please keep us posted how the lake is doing.
