Best landing is next to the roadside bar.... The 30in musky you caught was likely one of the fish that was stocked in 2010, they have really been doing well IMO. Pelican can be tough, but some huge fish are in here. My biggest musky I've ever caught came from pelican on 4th of July in 2009, 48.5 incher

Wondering if anybody has been having any luck with musky on Pelican?

I fished it for the first time yesterday and caught a 30". Nice looking fish and built real well for a small one. Looking forward to fishing here again. Lot's of variety with weeds and plenty of structure to keep a guy busy for a long time.

Which landing is the best for a 16 foot wide boat? Ice fish here in the winter but just wondering which one most people use. Thanks!

Fished Friday night - Sunday noon, casting for pike/musky. Pretty disappointed in the results, 6 pike and 1 musky. Maybe it was the high pressure. maybe I was not fishing the right areas. Fished over cabbage & cabbage edges, anywhere from 4-8 fow. Had a couple lazy follows by muskies and caught 1 in Outlook. The pike all came out of Musky on the north side on the edges of that valley. We used to come up here the 2nd week of June and slay the pike, hence the disappointment on the numbers from this weekend. Quite a few boats out on the weed edge of Musky Sat night, must have been crappie fishing. Stayed at Weaver's, very nice folks running the place, and a very neat and clean resort. I question some of the buoy placements...gps did not agree at all on some of them and neither did our locator. It was still nice to be back after a 7 year absence.

Like I said great fish Pelican! My comments were in no way directed towards you implying you mishandled the fish. They were more directed towards drptine comparing dead fish. Weather it was speared and mishandled and died its still a dead fish that someone else no longer has the thrill of catching.

My biggest Muskie also came on Pelican I've been fishing up there for 25 years. Its one of my favorite places to be and where I learned how to fish.

Nice fish Pelican! I was up Mothers day weekend getting the dock in and fishing was great in the mornings before the sun came out caught lots of pike and a few bass on #5 mepps marabou. Several over 30" and had one nice musky follow.

Whats even worse is the amount of musky that wash up on shore dead because too many don't know how to properly handle a musky keeping them out of water for extended periods of time to take pictures. Not having proper tools to quickly unhook fish. Im guessing just as many musky die from this as do spearing. There is a reason the musky population is so low on pelican right now. Spearing and uneducated anglers both play a part. Im glad to see some stocking done to bring the population back up.

Truly a fish of a life time. Its sad when you see fish like that in the back of a pick up with spears holes in it. Hopefully this fish will be someones else fish of a life time. Nice Catch.

Water varied from 53.5 to 55.5 by the end of the day on Thursday. Only one stray crappie to show for 5 hours of fishing. Caught that one shallow. Yes the water is low this year by about 8".

Have a good opener
