Fishing was tough. Fished a crib. My partner and I both had one on of decent size early in the morning, but we both lost em. Nothing else after that. Finally tried another lake after 4 hours of nothing.

Survey personnel at the boat landing told me about the divers pulling weeds as the chemicals did not work. Statistically, all it takes is one floating piece of milfoil weed to get away, and the issue will return. Nasty stuff that weed is.

Fished Pelican this past weekend. Walleye bite continues very strong, all total I caught about 40 walleyes, all on leeches and crawlers. Fish are on the gravel/rock in 18-22 feet of water. Fish were biting just about anytime of the day, used small jig. Fished ranged in size from 12" up to 20". Many legal sized fish were released for another day. Also caught several very nice perch fishing same gravel areas.

I also spoke to the divers, the did say they were optimistic about controlling the milfoil,i wonder about the other weeds that are choking musky Bay?

The guys (4 divers) were in musky bay "pulling weeds" this afternoon. When I went by them, they had a large float tube full of Eurasian Milfoil. I stopped and talked to them, they said there wasn't that much and that they were going to keep working the west shore. Thanks to the PLPOA for getting this work done!

Fishing was slow - too much change in weather this weekend.

Good walleye bite continues despite cold and windy conditions. Fish are relating to rocks 18-25 feet, leeches have produced the best for us. Have caught fish up to 21", most released but did keep a few for the grill.

FYI the game warden was out pulling unmarked crab traps. He had three in his boat when he checked me and was headed to pull some more.

As far as fishing goes perch and gills are biting but a lot of under sized ones. 20-1 to get any worth eating.

And yes if you troll next year you might even have a chance to catch a muskie on the Dead Sea during the summer months.
