Where’s the best place in the area to buy bait? Do you guys try leeches or only use minnows? Thanks

Toothy, we should get together and compare GPS coordinates, I think I have around 16 cribs marked we have found over the years.

FISHING REPORT

Fished Thursday night til Sunday afternoon. Obviously not straight through. Caught perch, crappies, walleyes, small mouths, northerns and muskies. Panfish were caught mainly on cribs or main lake structure. Eyes were caught jigging and trolling. Norts and MUSKIES also trolling. Waves were brutal for the most part except for super early and after dark. Shallow diving straight and jointed rapalas is all we used for trolling, they worked. Trolled 2-8 fow for the most part. Jigging was a challenge for boat control on the spots we like to fish. Used gulp and minnows and minnows out did gulp big time. Light hits from walleyes on the jigs and perch everywhere made it tough for any type of real nice jigging action. Water was churned up pretty good from all the wind. Looks good for future walleye as we caught many little tykes. Crappies were NICE and had to sift through the perch to get good ones. Sunday the mini storms in the morning were crazy. Wind changed direction 4 or 5 times while we were out in the morning. Rods were letting off static electricity and line was floating above the water, bizarre. You all know what I am talking about that this has happened to. Second time for me. We left after that. All in all a great weekend with pretty good action for the limited areas we could fish while having boat control.

Best landing is next to the roadside bar.... The 30in musky you caught was likely one of the fish that was stocked in 2010, they have really been doing well IMO. Pelican can be tough, but some huge fish are in here. My biggest musky I've ever caught came from pelican on 4th of July in 2009, 48.5 incher

Wondering if anybody has been having any luck with musky on Pelican?

I fished it for the first time yesterday and caught a 30". Nice looking fish and built real well for a small one. Looking forward to fishing here again. Lot's of variety with weeds and plenty of structure to keep a guy busy for a long time.

Which landing is the best for a 16 foot wide boat? Ice fish here in the winter but just wondering which one most people use. Thanks!

Fished Friday night - Sunday noon, casting for pike/musky. Pretty disappointed in the results, 6 pike and 1 musky. Maybe it was the high pressure. maybe I was not fishing the right areas. Fished over cabbage & cabbage edges, anywhere from 4-8 fow. Had a couple lazy follows by muskies and caught 1 in Outlook. The pike all came out of Musky on the north side on the edges of that valley. We used to come up here the 2nd week of June and slay the pike, hence the disappointment on the numbers from this weekend. Quite a few boats out on the weed edge of Musky Sat night, must have been crappie fishing. Stayed at Weaver's, very nice folks running the place, and a very neat and clean resort. I question some of the buoy placements...gps did not agree at all on some of them and neither did our locator. It was still nice to be back after a 7 year absence.
