Just wondering if you can walk the shorelines and bowfish for carp. Looking to come down this weekend and choot some fish for a couple of days. Getting the itch let me know.

I fished the river last weekend down around lake senechwine. Only caught 1 drum that actually shook off the hook as I was swinging him in the boat. Talked to a couple of other boats who seemed pretty bummed. They didnt get a bite all day. These carp suck and something needs to be done about it.

This year has been funny. The lack of any current has kept the white bas and suager down by Chilicothe where they normally summer. Caught eight sauger two 18 inchers and some whites Sunday 11/25/12.

Anything happening on the Illinois? I am visiting my sister in Henry this weekend and thought I would bring the boat to give the river a shot. Anything going on down there? Looking for walleye and sauger or crappie. Thanks. PM is good.

What is going on with the sauger fishery? Launched out of Starved rock Friday and fished from 11:30 until 3:30. I fished a lot of the spots that I normally catch fish at this time of year. My brother and I caught one white bass and the rest trash fish to include numerous Asian carp. Water is only down to 46. I am hoping to try again when water temps get into mid 30's. It seems the Asian carp might be keeping the saugers out of their traditional fall spots. Hopefully the Asian carp will not go to the wintering holes when the water cools and we can get at them. Is anyone else experiencing this? I do a lot of vertical jigging.Do I need to fish differently because of all the carp?
