Chute Pond, Oconto County (all postings)

Fishings been slow the last few weeks. Haven't had a good run since the ol lady won the crappie division in the EverBreeze fisheree. All we've been catching is baby perch and pre-teen crappie. Where are the decent ones???? Going to try the river this weekend. See if we can't find some keeper perch or something. How have the rest of you been doing?

Not a report but just curious why Pikefan would keep 10-12 little snake northerns??? In the pic, they all look to be around 18-20". I know there is no size limit up there but why? Down by me they have to be 32"-34" depending on lake, and that is a nice fish. These are snakes. They are a mess to clean with the Y bones too. Let em' grow and reproduce, chute pond is so small...or at least throw some back.

I think Pike-Fan caught all the northerns.

Not much luck this past weekend. No flags and only a handful of mini crappies. Where do you guys have the best luck w/Northern?? The river? By the big rock? Bonita Bay? Caught a fat 27" a few weekends ago - but nothing since. Right now we're set up kinda by the Big Island. Had a blast at the meat raffles......

Fished Saturday off the second island in the channel. Had a couple northerns on tipups with the biggest being 27". Pretty slow but the bottle bass were biting big time. Had about 15 people in our group and had a great time as usual. The fireworks were good also. Be back out this weekend during the snowmobile races. The fish will be biting away from the track for sure.

Caught some nice perch and small bluegill jigging for the fish-o-rama. After the wind died down, I could see perch all around on my Aqua-Vu, but wouldn't hit. I saw a really nice bass inhale my jig, set the hook but the hook was to small. I also didn't get anything on the tip-ups, no one I know got anything on tip-ups.

Fished saturday for a couple hours for the fish-o-rama. First time out this year on chute but set up just south off of one of the small islands in about 9 ft of water. No flags, but got some nice gills jigging. Registered one @ 7 3/4", very fat, will be good eatin for the super bowl! Didn't see anyone get a flag around me, mostly what everyone was doing around me. Marked alot of fish under me on the vexilar, prolly missed about 6, watched 2 drop down the hole, released about 5 smaller ones and kept 6 nice ones. Headed in early cause of the snow, and was gettin hungry and THIRSTY for some beers Not quite sure about the ice thickness was at least 24" cause that is how long my scoop is and didn't find bottom of ice with it.

adminsj, can I get on the pond by your place? Planning on Sun morn.

yup, Mountain Fire Dept derby is 2/2 and 2/3....fireworks on the ice saturday night, 1.50 cans of beer, breakfast at 8:00 am, prize wheels and drawings all day. Not sure exactly what time the fish judging starts on sunday.

is the fisheree Feb 2nd?? could someone let me know and if you know the time to thanks

where has everybody been having the most luck?? anybody fishing off the ymca camp?? thinking of coming up this way this coming weekend and looking for ideas on where to try, haven't fished chute in a couple of years. any help is greatly appreciated.
