Fished three mornings of Labor Day weekend.  Spent my time casting the shorelines. Used crank baits and top water lures. Top water was for heavy-weed areas and crank bait for outside the weeds. Caught small LMB each day.  Most consistent catch was when the bait hit right at the shoreline and the bass grabbed very quickly. Also had a 12in pike inhale the crank bait.   Fun way to spend the mornings.

Chuck from Jackson, Wisconsin has been out with me on "Pete" many times over the past few years and purchased a lake home on Sherwood last year. He had a home on Arrowhead but was not on the water so he asked if I would take him out and find some locations to fish here. I have never been on the lake myself until today so it was a learning experience for both of us. We slowly moved along while watching my Humminbird side imaging. We found and marked way-points on 32 brush piles, submerged trees, under humps, rock piles, and fish cribs so he now has some starting points. Deepest water I found was 28 feet with most weeds starting in the 12-14 foot depths in most places. Once we got into10 fow or less the weeds were from top to bottom.

Keep a tight line!!!

Jerry

Report from Saturday, 6/18/16

Went fishing for some late spring walleye.  Weed cover is VERY dense, making bottom fishing difficult.  Caught one 22 inch eye with leech and jig in about 13 FOW in the channels where weeds arent at the surface.  Had a number of other hits at the bottom.  Daughter caught about a dozen small panfish, no keepers... just memories!

Found fish with no problem today. Caught pretty much everything I was going for. Crappies from the 7-9.5 inch range and bluegills where no bigger than my hand. Mainly fished the middle and the old creek channel. Nothing spectacular caught today. Everything caught on green and silver sweedish pimple. All fish were released
