I have a friend coming up this weekend and is concerned about the ice thickness. Will he need an extension on his auger? We are almost to that point on some lakes in SE WI. Thanks for your help.

Hey guys! I was wondering if someone could tell me if they plow a road out of the north or south access? I am taking my daughter ice fishing for her first outing and thought marshmiller might be a good bet for action.

If anyone has any other idea for a good bite with easier access feel free to inform and advise.

We are coming up from EC so travel is not an issue. Shes only 12 so im not gonna drag her out on a more challenging body of water.. thanks much!

Be safe and good fishin!!!

FISHING REPORT
1/15/14 10:00 PM CST
Ice Depth: 18" Conditions: Partly Sunny Air Temp: 11° - 15° F Water Temp: Below 40° F
Was out from 11:00 a.m. until about 5 p.m. We had 2 flags the whole 6 hours....it was a nice day but a little frustrating. Both flags were pike that were about the same size. I didn't measure them but I'd say they were in the 25 to 27 inch range and 3 or 4 pounds. Good fish just wish we would have had more flags. Back at tomorrow!!

Ice Depth: 12" Conditions: Cloudy Air Temp: 16° - 20° F
Was out this afternoon for about 3 hours by Birch Point. Has tipups out and did not have a single flag, very disappointed. Did some jigging and caught about 10 panfish that were small. A lot of action on the Vexilar, the fish weren't very aggressive though. Speechless It was good to be back out on the ice again!

FISHING REPORT
6/14/13 10:19 AM CST
Conditions: Sunny Air Temp: 76° - 80º F Water Temp: 66° - 70° F
Fished yesterday, water temp was 69 - 71. Fish were very small, and slow. Never caught a keeper. Looks like a good year class of crappies about 3 years out, but the bigger fish seem few and far between.

Fished for several hours today. Overall was fairly slow with alot of little fish. Kept enough for a meal. Several of the male gills were ready to spawn, and several of the crappies had eggs even though the surface temp was 70 - 71 degrees.

I fished Rock Lake while a friend of mine fished this lake; they didn't get a single bite in 4 hours. We also didn't find anything to bite on our lures; threw everything in the book at them and fished until 7:30pm.

A lot of run off is keeping the temp way down on these small lakes. Sad

Ice Depth: 20"
I drove in at Birch Point and searched around til I found a deeper area on the south end. Lots of crappie and gills and they bit fairly good. Took a while to find them though, and they were mostly small dinks. I was the only one out there.
