FISHING REPORT
1/23/16 12:10 AM CST
Ice Depth: 10" Conditions: Sunny
Fished north end in front of Cedar Inn yesterday and today. Saw fish on the vex yesterday but couldn't get them to bite except for one 6 inch crappie who got to go back - I don't like his odds though with all the pressure on this lake. Heard people talking about catching shiners so I'm guessing that's what most of the fish I was marking were. Didn't even mark a fish today. Tried south end today for an hour then to shanty town on the north end. Counted 27 vehicles on the ice today, all close together in front of Cedar inn. Decided it was time to leave when a full size truck parked next to my shack. All the noise from the constant power augers the drinken fools made it even worse. Glad I didn't bring my boy out here for his first trip. Goodbye Marshmiller.

Ice Depth: 4" Conditions: Cloudy Air Temp: 21° - 25° F
Fished late morning from around 9:30- 11. Tip-ups only. No flags in two hours. Also, no action from anyone else that i witnessed. Panfish bite was completely cold too. Was told they shut down after 9:00. Decent ice, with wet snow on top. Best to get out at daybreak I guess.

Ice Depth: 4"
Fished yesterday morning,8:30 until around 2 on the south end of the lake. Solid 4-5" everywhere I drilled. Couple snowmobiles out too. Fishing was slow, caught about 8 worth cooking up and another half dozen that needed to grow. No tip up action but did catch a 22" pike on my UL on a jig and waxie. Everything was released, I was just happy to get out!

First time on the ice this year. Seemed to be a consistent 3-5" of good ice out from Cedar Bay Resort. Fished from 1-4:30 with a friend and marked fish most of the day bite was tough until about 3 they loosened up and we caught gills and crappie. Nothing outstanding but enough to sort through for a meal. There were guys with tip ups out not much flag action I saw but by the end of the day there were about 8-10 people in about three or so different groups on ice. Good first trip to make sure all the gear worked and easy walk out to fish.

I was in about 7 1/2 to 9 feet of water I had better luck in the shallower of the range.

Rookie8, I haven't been on Marshmiller this year so I was going to let someone else comment. There were a lot of dead fish this spring and reports I get from other guys have all been bad so I am not wasting my time there. I started mapping the lake last fall and need to finish that so I'll be back there in October. PM sent

Looking to fish this lake for the first time with the kids this weekend. And tips that would help catch a few fish? How is this lake for fishing? Thanks in advance.

FISHING REPORT
6/5/15 2:44 PM CST
Conditions: Partly Sunny Air Temp: 71° - 75° F Water Temp: 66° - 70° F
Went out this morning 6am. Fished the southern end along the shore and that weed bed 75yds off shore by the dam. Caught 1 bluegill. I had 1 line out with crawler on a bobber and me and my coworker tossed pretty much everything under the sun that we had in our tackle boxes for bass. Surface baits, weedles worms and frogs, Buzz baits, spoons, chatter baits and caught nothing. Even the blue gills should have been hitting (caught 20 of them on lake eau Claire 2 days ago in 5 hours). Saw about 10 dead fish floating also. Maybe there is a massive fish die off here.

Has anybody been doing anything out here? I've been hitting up other local lakes with some luck but haven't tried here yet. PM me if you want

Went out for crappie and gills and set some tip-ups for any bass or pike sneaking around. Zero action on tip-ups until 1pm then steady for one hour. Very small pike. Zero jigging action until forty minutes before dark then non stop 6 inch crappies. Wanted to try lake on the advice of my friend. Lake has awesome scenery and saw a lot of eagles flying around.

Yes, quite a few along with frogs too. Dead frogs and or dead bullheads=a mass die off. Many lakes close to marshmiller also suffered the same thing. Hopefully some fish made it up on the north end

I have a friend coming up this weekend and is concerned about the ice thickness. Will he need an extension on his auger? We are almost to that point on some lakes in SE WI. Thanks for your help.
