Took my youngest boy and a friend out this afternoon. Started jigging below the dam and moved south casting brush along both east and west shorelines. Fishing was tough and the current was fast. This spillway was open and current pushed us around 2.5 mph if we just drifted. Managed 1 small walleye, 2 big white bass and a big Smallie. There was a ton of Algae floating and if you werent moving your line, it would build up on your line and jig.
Great day to be on the water. Water temps were around 63. Fishing should get better with cooler temps in the forecast but current may remain fast with all the rain coming this weekend.
