MOON PHASE (26%)
Waning Crescent

Fishing was tough this weekend but did catch fish each day.  Plenty of short walleyes and one nice white bass which was released.  Lot's of current made it pretty interesting.  Good luck to all and stay safe.

Water is on the rise, Gates are wide open today. Water is up about 3 feet and the water is a little dirty.

There is definitely good shore fishing access below the dam. You could potentially catch all the species you mentioned at any time. I typically fish at night, but the low light hours of the day are good also. I mainly fish walleye, but catch Muskie with regularity. Almost 1 per trip this year, and I went 5 times. I have caught up to 5 in one night up to 42", and lost and seen a few caught that have hit the 50" mark.

Fishing the rocks is most productive for me, but can be very dangerous, and slippery. BE carefull!! I wear a life vest at night fishing alone. You can also put on waders, and walk the shore down towards route 21. Plenty of shore to fish, and a bait shop for your needs.

I have a day to kill tomorrow and was wondering if there is good shore access below the dam and if so is it very fishable? Looking to target walleye, smallies, whites, cats and maybe throw some larger baits for skis'.

Thanks, Steelie

I would like to know where some of you flathead fishers are getting those bluegills for bait.  I can't catch bluegills on this river at all.

We fished there this past weekend and caught some nice catfish, a few white bass, a goat and small walleyes.  Good luck to you.

Yes there is a shop at the dam, buy bait there and no launch fee.
