Try taking pictures of people littering and of the vehicles/license plates they get into and do some real good.

On the topic of anglers leaving trash on the bank , I have been fishing Pete & the Rock for 46 years & the littering is getting worse every year ! If certain people were as good at picking up after themselves as they are at keeping undersized fish & hiding them in coolers in there cars & trucks it might mean a better & more enjoyable time bank fishing . This is a few bad apples ruining it for the whole bunch & if it gets bad enough they can ban fishing below the dams where anglers on shore or boats can get no closer that 500 feet ! And while were on the topic of losers I wish the owners & security for the power company would keep folks from anchoring , holding on to the cable by hand or any other means of staying put by use of the cable system to fish prime areas , The power company rules state any use of the cable to keep a vessle stablized is not allowed ! Those who do it know who you are , Names will not be mentioned but from now on a camera & boat numbers will be !

MOON PHASE (85%)
Waxing Gibbous

Fished a few spots within a mile or so of the dam the evening of 8/2.  Channel cats were biting well.  Only one 8-9# flathead just before I left, which will make a great meal.

Thanks Easton. I've bank fished by you several times, but haven't gotten over there this year. You have a nice shop there...

Kiloguff59 I run the Castle Rock Dam Bait Shop and sell tons of Flicker Shads. I sell mostly the 5, 6 and 7 sizes which would cover depths from about 7 to 13 feet. Top 5 colors would be Firetiger, Red Tiger, Racy Shad, Pearl White and Shad with Red Tiger being the most popular this year. Most guys either troll them behind the boat or on planer boards. I would think speeds of .7 to 1.5 miles per hour would work well. Hope this helps.

To all the experienced folks here; I'm wondering if I could get some advice on which Flicker Shad lure(s) works best for you (color, size, et cetera) and how you fish them.

Basically, I'm a live bait fisherman, however, on occasion, I will use lures. My buddy turned me on to Flicker Shads and they seemed pretty good. I need to get some and thus my query.

I predominately fish (for anything that will bite) from a boat on the Castle Rock Flowage off May's Point, the Buckhorn area, mouth of the Little Yellow, Alcatraz Island area, up the Wisconsin River below the Petenwell Dam, and all points between. As I'm sure you all know, there's many snags, so I'm thinking deep divers are out.

Thanks for any and all help.

MOON PHASE
First Quarter

CONDITIONS
Partly Sunny

AIR TEMP
81° - 88° F

WATER TEMP
66° - 70° F

Beautiful morning. The chute was partially open creating some current.  We found some channel cats but no flatheads.  Fished for walleye while waiting on cats but ended up with a bunch of sheep heads. Nothing to brag about today.

I know where you're coming from.  When I find trash out there, I throw it in the back of my truck and get rid of it at the landfill with my own trash. Doesn't cost anything more. While it might be bank fishermen that suffer the consequences, that boat launch is aweful convenient and I'd like to keep using it.  This kind of stuff is the reason land owner don't let people cross their property to hunt or fish anymore.

Mainly I was venting, however, maybe someone who isn't a friggin' slob will read this and anonymously call the sheriff or DNR with the bastard's license plate number the next time they see someone litter. I'm on a boat so I can't or, believe me, I would.

I'm steamed, if you couldn't tell. Just yesterday, the Misses and I were driving east on 49th st., near HH, and some jerkoff threw out a McDonald's bag full of garbage in the middle of the road. I stopped and picked it up and threw it out when we got to our destination. I see this ALL THE TIME! And it's not just tourists either.

Hate to say it but I doubt the people doing the littering are reading any of this.  I've seen household trash dumped by the outhouses.  Last weekend some non-english speaking feller rammed the back of my boat while I was putting it in the water.  Two more guys fishing from the bank threw a plastic grocery bag into the water.  Seems like people don't give a damn anymore.
