Wisconsin River Below Petenwell Dam, Juneau County (all postings)

Hello, I was wondering where people are catching the crappie? Are they up by the dam or are they further down river past the dam? Are they using slip bobber and minnow or jig and minnow?? Anything will help. I am planning on going there this Friday....thanks 6 Point

Awesome fishing the past few days!!! whitebass crappies and cats

The catfish were biting Friday night before the windy cold front moved in on Saturday. Water was 54 when we began and dropped to 52 by the time we left. Current was perfect with the chute open. We kept a 2 man limit. Caught fish on everything we tried; crawlers, minnows, and cut bait. Biggest cat of the night was 12 lbs and it was released.

Dusty is the Bait shop owner on site at the dam he posts the pics and reports from other fishermen. So he isnt catching them all first hand but getting them from other fishermen there. Good source for information though since he is up there everyday.

Dusty, Nice looking bunch of crappies.... What did you use to catch them? What depth were you at? Were you near the dam?

Just wondering how the fishing has been this weekend due the the colder weather. I live about 2 hours away is it worth making the trip down????

Well...... If anybodys wondering how the fishings going JUST LOOK AT THE PICTURES!!! Crappies and cats are the main deal. A few keeper walleyes here and there, with most of them being caught spread out down the river. Cats are deep, crappies are shallow, and the whitebass are still spread out here and there. Water Temp holding mid 50s.

Hey dusty! good to see you after a long winter, despite the rain and high current we did manage some nice crappies, looks like the fishing is going to be good! we'll be seeing you guys again soon hopefully! man your ipilot trolling motor is really nice toy to have haha!

2 guys all day around 100 walleye none over 15ins 20 crappie 3 cats and 5 carp and a sheephead. Hook minnow and some split shot. 15 - 20 fow ,water temp 55 degrees.
