We're finally to our family vacation in a week and I'm looking for some pointers. We usually end up working weed edges and such for Muskie, but I've heard this lake is great for walleye and panfish as well. Since my kids are finally at an age where they like going out in our little boat, I was looking for some advice on how/where/what to use for walleye and panfish since it would be a rewarding experience to have the little ones get to help fillet and eat what they catch (not to mention I'd wear the little buggers out on fishing in a hurry if they came out for Muskie with me ;p ) Anywho, we'll be up for the last 2 weeks of August and can't wait to be on such a beautiful body of water no matter what happens, but any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!!!!

Joe:

I would suspect that Nam is in the upper 50's to low 60's and certainly in any shallow bays perhaps a bit higher... I am judging that by our lake temps over here which are nearly the same. Nam is a bit darker so I am thinking just a bit warmer than our...

Coming up to Namekagon this weekend with the family and was wondering if anyone has any info as far as water temp, what is biting. Not looking for spots, just trying to figure on what what rods and baits to bring. Targeting smallies, and walleye. Thanks, Joe

Fished on Saturday. Friday night the lake received 2.5" of rain. Water level was very high with some piers partially submerged. Water temp was 49 degrees, warming to the 50's late in the day when the skies partly cleared, especially in wind blown areas. Green weeds very limited. The lake is about 3 weeks behind typical. Felt like fishing an early opening day. Did see a picture of a 29" walleye released that day.

Question to those that know:

I'm in the Delta area and have good success near my cabin. However, I was thinking of branching out and trying new areas for some adventure. I hear good things and bad things about this lake.

I'm not species specific but love walleye and musky over everything else. That's not to say a day on the lake with the kids or wife catching crappies isn't in my mind either.

So, is this system worth the 45 minutes of backroads? The size is a little inimidating.

Any honest advice would be appreciated via instanat messenger. I would be willing to trade secrets of Delta.

Thank you in advance.

Getting geared up for the ice season. Got some ice on most of the lake right now, just not safe yet. Soon though. Keep up to date on the ice conditions here or by "liking" our facebook page

Facebook Page

Walleye, Crappie, and Northern fishing should be great again this year. With that, always doing ice fishing packages to the lake for those who are interested.

Check out our updated website for fishing packages. We can handle one angler up to the largest of groups and from those that have their own gear and just want some on ice instruction to others who want everything taken care of. And if you do not see it, we can customize any trip to your liking.
