Thanks for the tips! Went for a few hours this morning, and an hour at about 5pm, with no luck once again. I was tossing larger spinners, but lost my biggest tonight due to a snapped line.

I'll downsize my tackle and give those spots a try. I'm also hoping to be lucky enough to catch a bowfin. Didn't realize they were in here, but always wanted to catch one. I hear they put up a hell of a fight! Thanks again!

Those are good tips from gusgus. I would also add that even the middle of West Bay (not just the shorelines) can be productive.

We also have generally done better with smaller baits (smaller bucktails, bass spinnerbaits, 5-7" crankbaits) on LAV than we have with the bigger, classic, musky baits. And when you use those smaller baits you also enhance your chances of catching walleye, SM bass, LM bass and northerns.

I used to fish this lake years ago with great results. Try the center bar early A.M or P.M. Also big bar which extends out from the south shore before entering west bay. Also the shoreline by the inlet from Big Arbor Vitae where Little Arbor Vitae resort used to be. Fish this bay all the way out to center bar. We did well drifting the shoreline of west bay too. Hope that helps.

Rented a cabin for a week in the bay. I was out for two hours until sunset, with no luck. Throwing med/med large buck tails between the deepest point of the lake and shore(20 fow), with no luck. Moved to mouth of bay, also no luck. Finished inside the bay, working top water of bass/northern, with no luck either.

Anyone have a nice spot to work for bass, walleye, or northern/musky? A good color for this murky lake? Picked up some fire tiger large buck tails from the musky shop. I'm strictly catch and release, so I'm not pulling anyone's trophy out for myself lol.

Dylan:

This one doesn't look good ice wise... I get to go by it all the time and it is barely making any progress on the north shoreline...

Ill look for the ice right beneath the snow. Thanks, I would have had a hard time without the heads up Smile
