Any word on how fishing is going so far? Heading up to my grandparents to give it a go in a couple weeks.

To add, I was out with a friend as well perhaps two weeks ago and he had the auger just about buried, so lots of ice!!!

Your next going to get much of a response on this. There has just not been many folks out there. Mostly due to the bad slush conditions out there this year. Every time you go by the lake it is a ghost town! Was out there about 10days ago. Snow ice got soft at landing coming off, and tore the last 50yds up roughly. Getting off the lake with the truck. One auger was not able to punch through. Mine was just about not able to either. So you are talking at least 3ft of ice at that time. Very little has changed in the area since then. Some rain now, but changing to snow soon. Forecast for next week has gotten better, but we all know. NOBODY, can predict it with any accuracy!!

Thee Pancho, My grandpa has a cabin on this lake, I have been going up there fishing ever since i was born. The lake used to be an amazing place to fish. Limit out on walleyes in a matter of 30 min to an hour. But now there are two tribes spearing on that lake and ever since then your lucky to catch one walleye every year. Its a good place if your tracking crappie and gills. Sometimes if you put in the work you can get Musky. But otherwise only other fish really caught are bass and rock bass.

Went out yesterday, windy but nice day. Stuck mostly to the bays looking for crappies and gills. Not much luck finding crappies, but did find a number of gills, some nice. Caught a few perch, still milking. Lots of little smallmouth moved into the wood and rocks in shallow, and a surprise when i hooked into a largemouth that went about 19 inches in about a foot of water, must be warming up fast.

crappie:

I think the ice will be ok... with all of the nice weather, it is kind of difficult to gauge how fast the shorelines will pull away and of course this is on the north side, so it will faster...

I was on a smaller lake west of town last night and had 16" of ice. You might be able to sneak to the east shoreline from the landing and get on... Or Big Arb usually has better access as most of its shoreline is on the south side...

Its not a lot, but that is what I know right now.

How is the ice along shore holding up? Will the lake be fishable from the public landing this weekend?
