Thanks for all the tips! Spent the majority of the day on the water, with no real luck once again. My father had hooked into something large in the deepest part of the lake, but lost it under the boat. I worked center bar for smallies, but nothing. Moved back and worked the south shore, and our friend got on some beautiful smallies. Still, I had nothing. Decided to work top water, and managed to salvage my week by boating a gorgeous 33 1/2" tiger musky. She was really fat too, took two of us to bring her in with the net. Put her back and had a 40+" musky follow up to the boat. It was worth all the effort to boat my first musky.
Thanks again for all the tips. What a beautiful lake! I'll be making a trip up here in spring when things aren't quite so slow.
Sorry for the bad photo. She was a fighter and I couldn't get her to calm down. Took a treble hook in the leg trying to get her out of the net.
