fished yesterday with group of 4 and we caught @ 20 total and kept 12 nice size whitefish with rigs and all on slider w/ waxies. there were trucks out yesterday and way way out from snake island better go with buddy cuz lots got stuck from what I heard and needed help. UTV was interesting plowing thru nice drifts! slow day to say the least & current was rippin #3's ok yet 4's best and #5's for the beginners and guys in shack next to us 4 peeps kept 15 nice hogs too and let small ones go. SNO-Bear would be awesome here! fish on! be back on sunday again. Cool

Ice Depth: 16" Conditions: Sunny
Was out all day yesterday for my first time on Sand Bay.

Fished eyes in the morning, 20-25 fow, jigging odd balls and jigging raps but no luck. Only 2 whitefish during the day, 40-45 fow on the break that runs NE from snake island, jigging the standard slider rig. Eyes in the evening, little shallower than morning, same baits with varying jigging aggressiveness, no hits but did mark quite a few fish near the bottom.

Much slower than I was expecting. Could have just been beginner's lack of know how, or maybe it was slow all around for others. Might have to go out with Dale Stroschein and Wacky Walleye next time to shorten the learning curve. Any tips via PM are appreciated!

Went out to Larsens Reef yesterday with a buddy. Good day. No wind. Good ice. No way I would try to take even a beefy truck out there with the drifts. Not saying couldn't make it but it would get quite interesting at times... 4 wheeler or snowmobile only way to go. we were several miles out. Good day. Std. setup and methods. Right now only a place to go with a guide or if you have all the big boy toys.

Saw 4 trucks out there today, but lots of slush due to all of the recent snow. ATV's were getting stuck. I would stick to snowmobile, ATV or UTV.

Caught a limit of whites this afternoon, did best with raps and slider, fish seemed unusually picky. Travel was kinda rough and slushy/puddles

I accessed the lake here last year, but can't remember if I saw any cars driving out. Can I drive my car out without getting stuck, or do I need to take my truck? Have a long drive and looking to save a few bucks.

Thanks!
