FISHING REPORT

Ice Depth: 36" Conditions: Cloudy Air Temp: 31° - 35° F
Fished larsons reef for the first time this year. Drove out from sand bay on the plowed road to 39'. Saw lots of whitefish on the camera and their mood changed thruout the day. Finished three short of a two man limit. Most came on the bottom bait, with vmc tumble spoons and wax worms from AMA Archery Bait and Tackle , being the best. Many thanks to those responsible for the plowed road. Targa

Went out from about noon to 7 tonight. Unfortunately I couldn't kick the skunk out of the shack. Tried the standard and plenty of new whitefish set ups and spots and saw a bunch on camera just no takers. 60-30 fow.

Also tried jigging walleye in 10-20 fow from 4-630. No hits and none showing up on electronics.

Hope everyone else's trips were productive.

Did see a shovelnose sturgeon on the cam which was a treat.

Cycleguy...Ice is thick. I couldn't get through in a couple places, but out in the typical whitefish spots I was fine.

I won't be out again without an extension, though.

Thanks for the info guys!

Any idea on ice thickness? Assuming regular length auger is plenty, but.

FISHING REPORT

Plowed road out of Sand bay is great for truck travel. We drove out to the cluster of shacks and then headed off the trail to the south. There was about 4-10" of snow on the ice, travel was excellent.

We caught the most fish right at 8am and again at noon. All of our fish came from 15ft of water. All on the top hook. Average size was 20" with some pushing 24". Even saw some bigger ones.

Just another report from someone who checks in once in a while but does not post often. Again this year for the second time my family which includes (2) teenage sons and my wife went out on a semi-guided day trip with Bret Alexander and his crew.

Again this year it was well worth the cost. Everyone had fun, and everyone caught fish. We began fishing by 7:30 and got off the ice by 5:00. We kept 25 decent sized whitefish and maybe lost another 5 or 6 on the way up or at the hole.

This is only the second time in my life I have paid anyone to help me fish or hunt, and I can honestly say I do not regret it. Both years now we have been comfortable, caught fish, and enjoyed the conversation and interaction with Bret's staff. They really do work to help you catch fish and enjoy your day on the Bay.

This year with the road they plow it is extremely nice to be able to drive your vehicle right to the shack and have anything you could possibly need in the truck only a few feet away.

So for all those like me a couple years ago, wondering about whether or not to take a trip, and them with who?? I can highly recommend Bret Alexander and his staff. I am sure their are other great guides for whitefish on the bay, but i always believe past experiences are priceless and Alexander Sport Fishing will get my business again,

Tight Lines-- Kevin

Gabe, What do you care what is posted? If the post bothers you that much, don't read it. There are more importaint things in this world to concentrate on than someone asking a repeat question. If you just like to write, write something that will help keep the outdoors fun. We have too much negetivity now, don't need more. Learn to teach, it will keep the tradition going.
