I have never fished this area, do you go out from sand bay resort? What is the cost to park there? If the ice isn't thick enough to drive out I will be walking out. Thanks

Thanks guys, you have been very helpful. I have never been out up there so wanted to give it a try. If you have any good tips for a rookie I would appreciate it. Thanks again.

MOON PHASE (15%)
Waxing Crescent
I was up there Sunday through Tuesday. Ice was 10-12" everywhere I went, travel on ice was very rough with lots of sharp points sticking up, and some piled up shove ice over ten feet tall in places. Nice trails to follow out deep to whitefish city. Got all the whites I cared to reel in, a few nice perch, walleye was slow but I had a little action. No trucks out, ATV was the way to go, I have a rack to hold my one man on the ATV otherwise you will really bang up your gear if you drag it.

ICE DEPTH
28 inches

AIR TEMP
31° - 35° F
Still a quite few trucks driving out. We atv'd it out instead. Sloppy on the way out & sloppier on the way back in. Some spots had a couple inches of crusted over slush/water. Top 4" of ice was soft. Did well 45' water 8:00-11:00 in the morn on whites.

Many people bleed out their fish by cutting to ripping the gills. this drains most of the blood out and results in cleaner flesh to the fillets. Also whitefish are slippery to handle and pinching them in the gills ia a good way to grip them resulting in the bleed.
