Whitewater Lake (Bass, Kettle), Walworth County (all postings)

I was also out there for a few hours with my fishing buddy,only got a few small bass,didn't have any issues with the bass pros or other boaters hope the gills will be biting soon

There was 2 separate Club Tourneys out there on that day one had about 10 boats and one had 6or7 they have every right to fish there just as anyone else does. Both clubs just happened to get there at the same time so it looked like it was a bigger deal than it was the pleasure boaters and skiers were way more disrespectful than any of the fisherman I saw out there that day.

Was out there on opening day with that tournament what a joke.... I could hardly get out of the launch with out weeding my way thru the idiots just sitting there. And rude just because you have a boat that can do 1000 mph doesn't mean you should just blast across the lake.... If these were professionals than I just lost all respect for the sport....

I went out Sunday to give things a try, couldn't even get into the ramp lot, didn't know a tournament was going on. What cracker head would set up a tournament on opening weekend at a small state park lake with only one public boat launch? Better question might be who signed off on it from the dnr? Sounds like I was better off going somewhere else with my small boat than to deal with these "professionals".

Was out Sunday and Monday. Got a few Pike, good amount of bass and a couple small walleyes. I do have to say that some of the people fishing the Bass Tourney are some of the most disrespectful fisherman I have ever encountered in my life. Full throttle right next to anchored smaller boats and pontoons. Saw one small boat with a father and son almost tip from the wake created by four boats within 20 feet of them. Went over and checked on them and the kid was very shaken up by this and in tears. Also saw some jumping infront of other fisherman ( and I mean right infront) who were working the shores not in the Tourney. Being a Professional Fisherman myself, I always fish every lake with respect and ethics of other fisherman and seeing this happen on the lake I live on just disgusts me.

Was out yesterday for a few hours,2 small bass,was fishing for gills,not a 1 to be had

fished today only caught 4 largemouth and missed 3 , the first two where 20 inchers

Went out looking for Crappie yesterday. Found lots of wind and waves but no Crappie yet. Did manage to catch a bunch of Bluegills and they were all but frozen yet. Water temp started at 48 when we got there and was about 50 when we left at around 2. Sure was nice to get back out there again.

Came over here to go fishing today and could not find a spot to get on the ice.

Fished from 2:30 till 7:30 this afternoon. What a great day to be on the ice. All most had the lake to myself again. Ice was 11 inches with 1 of that being slush ice from the previous week warm up. Caught fish all afternoon. Most to little to keep but they kept you busy while catching bigger ones in between. Brought home 5 nice crappies and 14 blue gills. One plus was the 13 inch large mouth I iced while jigging for gills. Nothing more fun than catching a bass on two pound test line and an ultra light ice fishing rod. unfortunately I forgot the phone at home and did not get a picture of the bass.

The shore was starting to melt off a little but not bad yet.

Lets hope for one more week of ice fishing.

Went out Saturday from 5 am to 9 am . Not a flag but did ok jigging. 1 16 in walleye and couple of crappie 9 in lots of bluegill sorted out 10 that where 8 in or bigger and 3 perch one that was maybe 9 in but released was full of spawn. Are there bigger crappie in this lake? And the perch?

Fished from 8 am to 2 pm. Caught 5 crappie around 9 inches 2 perch 3 inches and had a nice pike in the hole but lost it. No flags all on jigging poles. Was a nice day on the ice.

Hey wondering if anyone has done any evening fishing on the lake this year that is willing to report about it. I would also be greatful if you would share an area to fish it at night. Not looking for you secret hot spots but guidance. Thanks everyone.

Went out late morning yesterday, fished tips ups in 6 to 9 FOW, 4 flags total in 5 hours, one small largie and a healthy looking pike. Used medium suckers. Tried finding the week edges but had a hard time finding much of any weeds that werent really shallow. Also tried jigging a little deeper in 11 FOW w/ wax worms and spikes but only a handful of small gills to show for it. Ice was good, vehicles all over lake. Not sure what this weather today will do to conditions. Be safe out there!

Was out yesterday in the deep searching for walleyes. Marked one fish only. Fished the edges of the deep area in 20-30 feet. I know they're in here somewhere. Any tips guys?
