Turkeyjr...

Sounds good. Every year there seems to be some talk on here about driving off of that one and it makes me cringe. Walking or taking a snowmobile/ATV should be fine but a full sized vehicle? Yikes.  That and the guys who ask or think that they can run a snowmobile back into Washington.

I’m lucky...I can access Shawano from a friend’s house. No worries about parking and I can get out to spots that see little to no pressure which is rare on that pond.

Taylor85, i would say if you go out from Cecil bay go to your right and anywhere along that shoreline farther out would work but i always catch them in about 9 to 12 feet of water occasionally deeper.

Went off of Spinning wheel.  Not a ton of shacks, guessing more will be out today.  Only 9 inches of ice.  Pulled shack out with the side by side.  Few trucks and SUVs out and about.  Would wait a few more days to drive.  Caught a few northern.

Thanks ulbian I either walk out of swan acres or take the sled due to the fact about the current in the channel I never trust moving water if I drive out I go off crystal lane. Last year after the warm up walking in and out from swan acres sucked but I’m here to fish again this year. Great thing is everyone usually knows the ice is sketchy there so the Parkin lot is usually empty.

Hey turkeyjr,

I personally would never drive a full sized vehicle off of the Swan Acres landing. Not sure if that’s what you are intending to do but use the Crystal Lane fire lane instead. At Swan there is current and it’s not uncommon for trucks to bust through there even in “good ice” years. I know others go on and off there but why take a chance on it when Crystal Lane is not far away to the east?

Pulled shack out with a four wheeler to the middle of the lake had 12 to 11 every hole drilled... buddy then drove his truck out . Fished from 3 till dark with tip ups and got a perch and northern. Switched into the shack and just caught and released a gar.
