Went out from Bamboo Bar today. Wind never let up all day. Fished from 9AM - 4PM . Had 15 tip-ups out between 6 of us. Only had 3 flags all day! Saw many other people with tip-ups out doing nothing as well. Brought home 23" & 24" pike. When cleaning fish I found that their stomachs were bare bones empty besides the one that swallowed our large golden shiner!!! Don't ask me what that means, I'm a machinist for crying out loud, but it sure seems like the Northern Pike had a New Years resolution of their own! Ended up with some nice fillets, and as you'll see, I even save the "Y-bone" meat. If it's just you and the wife at home, deep fry those strips up before you enjoy the main course. What a great hors d'oeuvre while enjoying your brandy old fashioned or PBR. It's not like you didn't know there was going to be bones!!! And they pull out super easy! Better days ahead, guaranteed!

Went out this morning from 6-10 on Cecil Bay. There was trucks driving around and the ice was roughly 12" give or take depending on holes. Iwas marking some on the flasher and had my tip up set off twice, but other than that it was a slow morning. Maybe with the weather change coming this week we will see some activity. As always stay safe and goodluck!

Went out perching today off spinning wheel. Got out at 445am fished till I ran out of bait at 345pm. I may have been the first out in that area this morning as I didn't see any vehicles or lights. Moved a couple times till I had to head to the permanent and warm up. Caught around 50 fish today. Kept a meals worth. Biggest was 11 inches. Spoons and rosies worked best all day. Best bite was noon till 2 then they shut off for the most part.
This week should be a bit better with higher temps. It'll sure make it easier to fish out in the open!
