rserva,

Thanks for the tip.  I haven’t tried a wacky rig yet but have seen their effectiveness.  I will give it a whirl!

Do you know if this lake gets any thick grass mats during summer?

Thanks,

Grizzled bear. I would try any weeded area 4 to 6 feet. My favorite for catching bass on Shawano Lake or any lake for that matter is stick baits fished wacky style.

Fished Saturday and Sunday. Caught gills in 6-8 feet of water along weed edge.  Had to work for them.  Pink jighead with small gulp minnow.  Last Monday they were just about jumping in the boat.  Big change in weather or are they done spawning?  Kept a few for a fish fry.  All were 8-10 inches.  After this winter I thought the gills had left but maybe I need more practice ice fishing.

The levels are 5-6 inches lower than normal.  I keep my boat in a slip and can see the level on the docks. That is also what SAWM is saying too. Someone talked too the media and said it was a foot low and they took it and ran with it. More fake news??

I was wondering how the lake levels are.  I've seen on multiple media outlets that they have lowered the water levels.  I launch at county park and never had a problem with my 18.5 fiberglass boat.  Just thinking launching could be questionable and the old 3' deep areas might have to be careful.

Curious how the walleye fishing has been on this lake. I’ve been following the walleyes for tomorrow FB page for a few years. Lots of work being put in. I hear mixed reports. Thanks for your feedback.

Hello All,

Not from the Shawano area and never fished this lake.  Anybody have tips for some good bass fishing on the lake?  Not looking to keep anything, just for a good hog haulin day!  Thanks for any help

I will be fishing this lake in a couple of weeks. From google earth it looks like this lake has some extensive weed beds in it. What type of weeds are prominent in the lake? Is there any gravel or rock in the lake or is the bottom sand an muck? Thank you in advance for any info.

Was thinking about heading to shawano this weekend for crappie. I have fished there a few times with no luck. Just don’t know where to start. Any tips would be appreciated
