Drove out off of county park yesterday without a problem. Ice seemed solid all the way thru when drilling holes compared to smaller lakes in the area. Cecil landing was pretty rough coming off. Fishing was super slow. Crappies and perch moved out of the areas I found them in last week. About 5 inches of snow in most places on the lake. Drove across lake from county park to cecil with a few stops in between with no problem at all.

Headed to Shawano this morning ended up going home much more snow than anticipated and couldn't see anyone on the lake didn't feel like potentially getting stuck or trudging through pulling gear. Might wait for the warmer temps to knock some of the snow down.

Is there actually enough ice out there that people are still driving?  If someone could report on the ice thickness and ease of access for walking and/or driving on cecil bay, that would be great!  Would love to get out for some panfish this weekend if its doable.  Feel free to PM me with any info or suggestions on starting points to target.

Thanks all!

Walked onto lake off bamboo bar, lost my bag of jigging rods with 3 poles in it around 9:00 - 9:30, when I walked back they were gone. Black poler bag. Nothing fancy, but all I have. Ended up fishing with a fence post I use to mark my tip ups and zip tie spring bobber. Caught about 15 perch using wax worms and rosy reds. Nothing of any size. Also one 25” pike on my wax worm fence post rod! If anyone knows anything about the rods please let me know, thanks.
