Pictures from today when they pulled the SUV and shack out of the drink from last week. Still open water south of the island.
Maybe drop your shanty near the landing and drive out each quarter mile and drill a hole and measure the ice. Nobody is driving across the lake yet and there were shacks that melted through which means thinner ice in some small patches.
Everyone i've talked to said 12 inches or more, but if you're nervous, pick the track you'll be driving and measure each quarter mile. Then go back and pickup your shanty.

I drove out the county park last weekend. Ice is good. My mother in-law lives on the north shore. Only open water I seen was in front of her place on the shore line. That being said out neighbor had his suv parked twenty yards from that. I drilled about 50 holes and we had solid ice everywhere. Fishing was super super slow. Good luck! Still always be cautious!
so i guess i need a straight answer about the ice off county park so me and my son stay dry hauling our shanty out tomorrow? ive heard theres 14 in everywhere out there? i plan on driving a mile out and setting the shack up there but i need an honest answer before i attempt it?
