I have been fishing this lake for appx. 20 years, and I must say that I have never seen so many rude people combined in all those years as I have this year total. It has been just rediculous. I can't put my finger on exactly why this is, but from what I have experienced (and I hate to put blame on anyone), it has been the F.I.B's. I think it is an Illinois thing, these people have no respect for personal space whatsoever. I had a group who were all wearing Illinois sports teams gear, circle completely around me as i was in one of my go to spots, ok no big deal right? Well here's the kicker, next thing I know they were 20 feet from my boat setting anchor. I couldn't believe it. Since I didnt want to look like an ass I kept my mouth shut. The. Next thing I know, one of their lines cross mine as I was getting a bit, ha thy were that close. So I had enough, I packed up and went over to Washington lake. Beached it there right at the mouth of the channel off the the right. It was t a half hour later I had another boat with Wisconsin and Illinois tags beach their boat literally right on top of me with tons of room for them to go. My kids were swimming in that spot and they just barged in. They the. Got off their boat with th it dog and walked right through my area set up with chairs to let their dog poop in the sand. After that I had it and decided to leave. Ok, rant over. Other than that the fishing has been average at best. I've been basically focusing on bluegill/sunfish, bringing in 10 legit keepers per day. Nothing to brag about that's for sure.

Amen castaway people are so quick to go to the bar and brag that they got a bucket with their limit of bluegills in it when in reality they're all 4 to 5 inches

Surface Temps were 73-74 most places I went today. As for panfish, take a look in people's buckets in the winter...you will see the problem. I did however have one of my better years for size of pre spawn gills on the flyrod. Didn't have to sort through many to get my 10 keepers....then just had fun after that.

Use a jig and minnow or nightcrawler. Wolf river rig to get down in current.

Me and my son are looking to fish by the Dam in town. Any suggestions on what we should use to catch anything. Not looking for a meal, just for some fun.

Thank you

Nice day on the lake today, caught a perch, bass, some northern and a gar all casting. I left a homemade boat hook on the dock in Cecil. Reward if found. Thanks

FISHING REPORT

Search concluded this morning when the body of the victim was recovered.

It's unfortunate that it takes this type of situation for people to wake up to the risks involved being on the water and yet some still don't get it. This morning I went out for about an hour and there was a water skier being pulled by a jet ski. No life jackets being worn by either and no spotter on the jet ski.

There's a missing boater on the lake. Search and rescue teams pulled out around 9:30 tonight and will be back at it tomorrow. Just a heads up for anyone who hasn't heard this news that there will be a recovery effort going on until the individual is found. The search is being conducted on the west end of the lake.

@jish Yes, there are Longnose Gar in Shawano lake. I was surprised when I accidentally caught 2 of them yesterday. I was just a bit northwest of bluegill hill and had a minnow below a slip bobber about 10 feet down. The first one I caught was about 20 inches long (see picture). The second one was just shy of 28 inches.

I'm going to fish this lake in a couple weeks and I was just wondering where to find the best spot to get some walleyes. Any response back would be great, thanks
