There were geese leaving the lakes SW corner this morning.....must be some open water somewhere. Could just be the mouth of the channel.....but be smart out there guys. Also drove past cloverleaf lakes today. Looked like not much more than a skim on parts of them.

I'm going to take a ride Friday and look over the ice for myself. I'll post reports Friday night. Last year I put my shack out on 4 inches of ice, but it's very light. Kinda like to wait for hood enough ice to run the 4wheeler. But I'll hold off. Check back Friday for a ice report!

Went out saturday 11-22 on cecil bay. 5 to 6in of ice was out about 150 to 200 yards. Bite was very slow to. None at all out for 2 hours and only managed 1 small gill. Anxious to see how the ice held up after this weekend.

Stayed out till the packer game. No flags. 4-5" good ice. Went out last nite from 6pm-9pm off Graves Rd. Good 6" out there. No flags again. Only went out past the 2 reed beds. Watch out this weekend, 40F and rainy. Hopefully it doesn't melt too much Sweating Crying Sad

Went out off Cecil Landing yesterday from 10am til 2pm. Easy 2 - 3" ice. Walked out about 150 yards. Got in about 8' of water and away from the thick weeds. No flags but sure was nice to be on hard water!! Graves also had 3" when we checked. By now, prob closer to 5".

Cecil bay froze over yet. I know there's no walking ice just wondering if it's started yet? Thanks also I broke down a bought a 4wheeler this year. I know every one Is different but what thickness is safe for driving it on. Well what's more then safe. I was thinking 4-5 inches at least.

Thanks for the water temp updates guys! Keep 'em comin! Can't wait to be on hard water. Last year, we had 3" by Graves Ln. on Nov. 26th. Dec 6th we had 6" off Hubies, and Dec 13th I drove my shack out on 11" off Kelloggs.

Temps as of 4pm on 11-10-2014 were 41 on cecil end in the deeper water, and 39.5 on west end in deeper water. Shallows were 36 according to both Humminbird and Lowrance units in my boat. With the wind forecast it will be a little while before she freezes. Some shallow areas on the west will prob form ice soon. Be safe out there.
