FISHING REPORT
5/25/15 1:44 PM CST
Conditions: Partly Sunny
Put the boat in Shawano a couple days last week. Each day targeted and caught gills. Tossed red worms on small hook INTO the cane beds that branch out into the lake. Slip-bobber and split-shot for weight. Only 2-3 FOW. Nice little basket of panfish each day made for a tasty fish-fry dinner. Good size.

ZTates last Saturday the water temp in Shawano Lake was only 58 deg. With the cold nights we've had this week not sure it warmed up any. Caught some nice perch out from Cecil in 10-11 fow using red hooks tipped with a minnow. But the fishing was pretty spotty at best.

Just wondering if anyone could provide a general report on what's happening on Shawano lately? Anyone have a water temp?

FISHING REPORT

Caught some bluegills today, found many at the bottom of the steep drops suspended.

Please note to the couple launching about 4 pm, get your boat ready off to the side not at the launch backed up to the water. When you come off, don't cut off other boats going in as well, just because they are going slow no wake coming in...

No harsh feelings at all SheeplSlayer. Your point about the fake fishing reports is completely understandable. Tight lines!

Anyone remotely familiar with the system would've known exactly where Lobina had those pictures taken. Now since there has been this much chatter about it guess what? It's possible you'll see more boats in that area. Gotta be careful with this sort of thing as too many people are not willing to put in the time and effort opting instead to chase an internet bite.

SheeplSlayer, your comment is appreciated. If you look back at my previous report before my catch, I never said that I was at Shawano Lake. I mentioned that I was looking for prespawn crappies by the channel connecting the Wolf (river). I went right back the following week by passing the rr bridge where I caught those dandy crappies. They usually turn dark in color as their hormones begin to change prior to spawning. . In my experience, Shawano Lake, the Channel and the Wolf, hold one of the best fisheries around the area with no offense to other great fisheries that Wisconsin has. About the dike that shows in the back ground is part of the rr bridge. Here is a pic that pretty much shows my location that day. Good luck to you and to all fellow fishermen!
