fished it for the first time yesterday lots of weeds thick with algae got one 10" perch first cast and about 100 3-4" after. only had crawlers. every thing under 8' deep was to thick with weeds to fish 10' was the most productive got nothing below 17' should have brought minnows.

To the guy who is fishing with only a trolling motor, good luck.  With that said, because Shawano is such a shallow and weedy lake, bass can be caught just about anywhere including near the county park.  With a trolling motor only or canoe, the the access point near the Spinning Wheel may be your best bet.  Just fish shallow weeds.  Try Senko wacky style presentation.  That always seems to catch fish.  As for the weeds, I thought that the weeds would be greatly reduced after the milfoil chemical treatment that was done in May?  I live in Illinois and fish the lake in May, September, and October only.  How are the weeds?

Not really because we've only got a 14ft small craft with a trolling motor so we have limited time to be on the water. We also occasionally fish off our canoe , so being able to launch closer to the better fishing spots is a huge advantage. The main info we're looking for is, which side of Shawano Lake is the easiest and most productive to launch from ? North, South, East or West ? Not exact coordinates, just general areas/sides of the lake that people have found most successful ?

CaliCheese, can't you just boat to other spots on the lake?

Where is the best boat launch located for catching bass on               Shawano Lake ? We've been launching from Shawano County Park and Campgrounds off of Lake Drive for the past 3 weekends and haven't had any luck nor bites ? We're thinking of trying Cedar Lane but not sure of what the boat launch and parking look like there ?

There are just too many weeds and reeds off County Park and Campgrounds, even when we Texas rig our lines. Any advice would be welcomed. Thanks !

Park the boat on the high part of the sand bars & cast into the deeper water. Crawlers & leeches are hot right now.

Can anyone give me some "hot" tips for catching some bluegills in August?  I havent been able to get out fishing at all this summer and am hoping to get a few nice gills for a fish fry!  Any help would be greatly appreciated.
