Went out with 2 friends over the past 2 days and finished off our trip with about 45lbs. Total of white bass. We fished all around the big bridge and a little in sunset bay, using only whit mepps no.3 spinners. Lots of 14-17 inch fish.

Went out for a few hours last night. Anchored and pitched jigs on Oakwood point since there had been a light NW wind most of the day. Only caught 1 sheepshead. Moved over to the cane beds between Hwy 41 & Oakwood Pt, and ended up with a nice 3lb catfish, but that was it.

If anyone has tips or suggestions for Butte, please IM!

Trolled in 8ft of water yesterday afternoon. Wind was 15mph WNW and it was pretty rough. Caught a few whitebass on crawler harnesses. Was running a #5 Flicker Shad 6ft down and only caught sheeps. Finally anchored off Oakwood, hoping the wind would be blowing the baitfish in. Caught a 6" and 8" walleye on jigs, and some more sheeps on jigs and slip bobbers. Those eyes have to be hiding somewhere! PM me if you've it any advice!

Sumthncrzy,

Did you get the eyes trolling or pitching jigs? Could you IM me with more info?

I've been out several times over the past week or so, pretty much just sticking to Sunset Bay. I've tried the south edge of the cane beds in the Bay, as well as the east shoreline of the Bay, working my way out to Sunset Point. Caught 2 Pike that were 18-24", and a handful of walleye... but all the eyes have been 6-8" babies. Not sure where the larger ones are lurking. Also caught a nice 4lb cat in the mud in the North/East corner of the Bay.

I know most people troll, but I've really been enjoying pitching jigs. If anyone has tips on where to try pitching jigs, please IM me. I'd really appreciate it!

Sorry alittle late but I was out on Sunday with my son. We got our limit on eyes and a few crappie and gills. Leeches and crawlers. Does anyone feel like sharing info on the musky bite here?? I've tried everything and I've only managed to raise one musky in 3 years. Please help!

Any ides best spot to put in a small boat? The two county ramps on way to omro did not look to good. One had no turnaround or parking and the other was made for bigger boats. I fish only for largemouth and wanted to find some nice bays. Just a small boat with a trolling setup so quiet waters work best.

I've heard conflicting reports about the ice being out on Butte Des Morts. Can any tell me if the ice is out or not? I'm hoping to get the boat out this weekend if possible.

Fishgirl is right..you can run the middle even out of the Chanel just don't stray south that is where most the rockpile reefs are. If you left 41 bridge and split bute down the middle with an imaginary line stay to the right of that line....you don't really wana go that way anyway that time of year...stay in bago you'll have a much better chance.....imo

Bassinbowler I usually take off from winneconee and to either the north or south end of Bago and when traveling through butte long as you are on pad you are fine just about everywhere long as you are in the middle an if it gets rough I will cut through sun set bay once in awhile too and that will usually knock off some time and it gives the butt and back a short break. An if you start heading further west towards winn just keep an eye on your chart and follow the bouys to stay in the river channel.
