Black Cobra- What were the ice conditions like as far as traveling by vehicle? Just wondering how much/how deep the snow is on the lake and if there were any slush pockets on the ice that could make vehicle travel difficult.

Fished Torbin bay I think its called, tried finding big gills, all we found was a million small ones. No flags. Bluegills were even out in 30ft. This was Sunday

Sorry for the non report but we have reservations at Hillers Pine Haven resort the 1st week of February and I was wondering if anyone had stayed there and used the permanent shacks they provide? We decided to stay in Wi for our annual trip instead of going to Mn. Thanks

Worst weather on Monday that I ever fished in but it was so active that I didn't have time to enjoy my beer without it freezing. Flags were popping all day, mostly northerns with an occasional walleye. Nothing fancy, just large shiners. Snowmobile trails open Friday so that will cause some problems but the worst will be later in the month. Get out and enjoy it while you can. Plenty of ice.

Been catching Walleye and Northern in South Bay for two weeks now. Walleyes at sun down up to 27" and Northern all day long. Things are starting to slow down. Pictures are up at the Bears Den.

Fished Little Saint 9/26 through 9/30. Hammered perch in Hangar Bay on jigs and minnows in 9 feet of water. Some jumbos on red tails. Bottom line is bigger minnows catch bigger perch. Too big of minnows catch no perch. Caught several LMB in the 13-14 inch range on slow poke jigs and fatheads. Walleyes were all small. Caught one 15 inch muskie, so there is some hope for the future. Northerns were active in No Fish Bay and near the entrance to South Bay. Water temperature still too warm for soaking suckers. Wait until it gets to 55 or so. This lake is very difficult to fish without a depth finder and fish locator. Bottom line: if they are not biting you have to move and find the right structure and depth. All fish were released except for two meals of perch.

Caught eye in front in front of Black bear at the bend. Caught Northerns in all the weed beds mainly in No Fish bay. Lost big Muskie in same area. After losing muskie and a big nothern I went to Rays and had them put on 14lb test. We worked hard all week and caught some nice fish.

I was told years ago that to be a better golfer you need to golf with better golfers. This is so true for fishing as well. Catching over 20 Nothern, between the 3 of us, was alot more fun than catching 20 crappie. Good luck
