I've been doing a lot of "sonar fishing" since Friday and am beginning to have some success in the early morning hours as the fog burns off, and evenings just before dark. Walleyes are hidden well but can be found in 15 to 25' break lines on the west side. Haven't caught very many, but enough to make it worth while. The Rock Bass are plentiful and like the 1/4 oz jig and leech presentation also. I haven't tried minnows yet but may in the next few days. Night crawlers are a challenge to use due to the many suspended bluegills. If you can get down passed them they work just as well as leeches.

Hoping to find some bass and/or pike in the next few days. If anybody wants to swap info I'd be willing to share what I've found so far.

Tight lines -FD

Me and my family are making our annual trip up to Little Saint in about one month from now. Wondering how the Northern Pike bite has been? Have had some decent success netting Pike in the 18"-22" range each of the last 5 years on the lake. If anybody could give an insight on how the Pike bite has been, it would be much appreciated! Thanks and Tight Lines to you all!

Largemouth bass are amazing right now. Texas rig your favorite soft bait and work the docks in the north end and you will limit every time you go out. The crappies and sunfish are not biting at all this week, caught a couple walleye off mr twisters and live minnows but nothing special.

If you think this is bad take a look at the MN site if you want a report!!! Not sure about LSG, but if it on par with any of the others in the area, you probably missed the crappie bite, putting them on the weededges, but the gills should be in, if not soon to be, although on shallower parts of LSG, they could be done...

Perhaps another strategy for you to get some info is to read the Vilas Co. report as there are lakes reported on that will give you an opportunity to gain an understanding of whats going on on your particular lake.

To abacab...stayed at Hillers a couple weeks ago. Great place and the owner Mark was great. He will give you a call 3 or 4 days before you go and answer all your questions. He put us on the fish however they weren't biting. Marked a ton of crappie just not active. We rebooked for next year before we left.
