Coming up on Sat.for a week.Just wondering to expect for water levels.
Just looking for help on how to access the lake with 4 wheeler. We're staying at Elbert's in the west bay. They're manage by a property management company so I'm not sure if I'm getting a good answer from them. They say I can access from the resort but the pics I see show it being pretty steep. And I'm just seeing the one boat launch on the north side.
Fished from 1/11 to 1/13. Caught bluegills and crappie in 6' of water and in 14' of water. No size to any of them. Just a jig and a few spikes, didn't matter the color. Also caught some northern on large shiners in 6' of water with weeds. No size to those either.
A fairly good annual trip to LSG. Kept six 10in crappie for a nice meal, released quite a few more in the 9-10 range. Released everthing else including 20 or so northerns up to 22" and a couple of bass to 18.
This was nicest size to the crappie and bluegills that we had seen there at this time of year, but numbers were down quite a bit..
As always, probably enjoyed seeing and hearing the birds and other critters about as much as the fishing: Eagles, loons, herons, woodpeckers, kingfishers all very active.
Fishing in South Bay of LSG with spinners and chatter baits. Chatter baits working the best. Fish seem not as active as I remember. Weeds are much worst this year. Being from farm country I was hoping get away from the farm runoff ruined lakes. In two days had 16 or so bites, 10 or more follows and landed 6. More fish away from shore in 4-5 FOW.
Sorry guys not a report just needing a little guidance. I usually fish the Hayward area in the fall but wanted to switch it up and try Vilas county. I am considering Big Arbor or LSG because there are vacation rentals on both. Never fished either and was wondering if some fellow anglers could give me their opinions of each and maybe a starting point of where to try. Also, are either or both lakes busy in October? Feel free to message me or post for all to share. Thanks in advance and tight lines.....
Up here for a couple more days. Did good on largemouth in the shallows and bluegills in about 10 fow on the weed edges. Does anyone know where to find crappie or walleyes?
I don't know how to explain it but in my opinion LSG is the best bass fishery in WI. I Flip piers with a brush hog and 1/3 oz weight and wacky rigged senkos and average 1-3 bass per pier. It's very seldom that I don't get a bite while flipping a pier.
had great success lately
