MOON PHASE (97%)
Waning Gibbous

CONDITIONS
Sunny

AIR TEMP
71° - 75° F
I just waded with my flyrod fishing mostly poppers. The Crappies were in but not interested in my poppers, some gills were biting. I didn't even have a spinning rod with me let alone live bait. I wanted to practice with the long rod before I go out west. Things are way behind on this lake and the water was low again. And the fishing pier no longer has the large sections with the seats and the T area. All of that was lost over the winter and it won't be fixed until next year.

Any updates on ice conditions or how the bite has been? Thinking about going a little north for better ice conditions this weekend.

PM me if you prefer.

Fished for a few hours on the 23rd. Marked fish mostly between 18'-22' of water. Only caught 7 perch and one rock bass. Learned there are no atv's or snowmobiles allowed on lake. Big sign right by ramp. Felt a little odd pulling a trailer out with an ATV on it but I wasn't the only one. Not having snowmobiles and ATV's buzzing around does make for a peaceful outing.

Was surprised by how many trucks and shanty's out on the ice on this small lake. Fished Friday 22nd about 50 yards out beyond the fishing pier area. Fished in 17 FOW, from 9:30 AM till 2:30 PM. Marked many fish and seen several dozen perch on the camera, but few takers. Was first trip out this year. The ice is very clear 12 inch thick. Used spikes and minnow pieces. Had more fish and hits on the minnow pieces.

Fished the weed line around the entire lake on 8/11/15 from 5:30-8:30 PM. Used jigs with wax worms and crawlers. Also used Rapalas which didn't produce anything.

We caught 5 3-4" bluegill and 3 perch the same size. One 12" bullhead and one 24" northern. Wax worms were hot. Even caught the northern with a tiny jig and waxy. With the ultralight pole and 4lb test, the pike was a lot of fun.

Was out last week from shore and there was nothing happening. The lake was real low. I went to the dam and I have never seen it that low before. I scouted about 3 weeks ago and the levels were normal. Did they draw it down or what? Does anyone know? I hope to get out this weekend. Speechless

gave it a try on saturday morning and had the lake to myself. between deer hunting and the fishing on this lake going down the tubes the last few years i know why i had it to myself. nothing but a few tiny gills and perch. went over to crooked and manage a meal of gills. ice was about 3"...that was obviously before all the rain and warm temps we're getting right now.

Pike size limits have only created stunted pike in southern Wisconsin.Another dnr law that backfired. Also does damage to panfish populations. Sad
