Today I put the live bait away and decided to only use plastics. Fish are still in the shallows and the bite was good. You have to hole hope to stay on the schools. The bigger gills started to show themselves a couple hours before dusk. I saw 3 nice crappies throughout the day and 1 giant one! None of them were interested it what I was offering though.

I hole hopped a rotation of 30-40 holes today. The bite wasn't as fast as yesterday but they were there. The bigger fish seemed to come through in schools in the shallower water (2'-5'). The smaller fish were also in big schools but in deeper water (9'-13'). Picked up a 14" bass in the thick shallow weeds which made for a fun fight on light line. Ice is fading fast! This will probably be the last week of ice fishing.

Get after them gentlemen! The bite was HOT today! I ended up catching my limit again of nice gills, crappie, and perch. They were extremely shallow today! I caught all of my fish in 2'-4' of water! Using the MarCum was pointless since they were too shallow to even mark. Ended up sight fishing all day! Plan on going out again tomorrow!

Got a couple small gills the other day on waxies in 5 FOW. I've caught those funky golden shiners in George as well. I actually saw that guy catch the 28in Walleye a couple years back. He was jigging for panfish at the time. It was hilarious because he had never ice fished before. He was from San Francisco apparently. When the fish popped out of the hole he started screaming like a little girl. Like he was afraid of it! What a twinkle-toes! We had to tell him it was a walleye and probably the only one in the lake!

Gonna hit it later today and will report.

Fished from 11-3 today. Unfortunately, I had to leave right at prime time because my buddy had to go. I didn't hole hop as much as I usually do since it was so windy. The bite was good today, however, finding the fish was a little harder, if that makes sense... Meaning if I did mark a fish it would bite instead of just staring at it and shooting back down, like many days on George. Ended up catching 16 fish and only 6 were keepers. 4 perch and 2 gills.

Also, had a giant water bug come out of the first hole that I drilled. AND had a mole run across the lake and right up to my shanty! He looked lost so I caught him and brought him to shore hahaha! I have a video of him but I don't know how to post it!

Went out today between 12:00 and 5:00. The fish were shallower today compared to previous days. Caught my limit of fish in 6-10 feet of water. 24 gills and 1 perch. Gills were between 7.5-9". Also caught a few bass and a couple grass pickerel. No crappies today. I drilled about 20 holes and only 3 of them produced fish. All fish were caught on a Lindy Toad in the Coach Dog color and a wax worm.

Fished this morning from 8-10:30. Caught a number of small gills and borderline perch, which went back in. Brought home a couple of very nice gills, a nice crappie and a perch. I've had pretty good luck with Tungsten Mooska jigs in the smallest size available tipped with wax worms. Color doesn't seem to be a big factor for me, but I use blue, red and pink most often. Orange is also a good color choice for this lake. I fish Lake George regularly and the action has been consistent for me. I do best in about 10 feet of water. Earlyretirement - That is a grass pickerel... It's in the pike family and I catch one of those almost every time I go out. Lake George is the only place I've every caught a pickerel. I don't think they are a fish for eating - I always just release them, but they do put up a nice fight on an ultra-light jig pole. I'm usually disappointed though because I want that fish to be a jumbo perch. There are also nice perch in Lake George. It has been a good year for me on this lake. With March here, it will be open water before we know it, so enjoy what's left.

3-1-15 Went out today to see if i could get some underwater video out here. Lake is not as clear as i though it would be. Could not find much for fish in the shallows. More fish out past 10 feet.

Is the first fish in the video a northern or a hybrid musky?
