I have heard that the fall Walleye fishing on Oahe is awesome. Is there anyone that has a recent report or past experience with the fall bite? Thanks in advance. TT

Caught a lil mess of 'eating sized' cats. Caught em on fathead's....because the bait shop closed 35 seconds before we got to the door, we couldn't get creek chubs that we wanted.

There were a lil slow biting at first, but once dusk hit, they were biting pretty good and aggresive. Couple of guys out there didn't have any luck with walleye that I seen. Oh, the water level was impressively high for this time of the year.

Any word on how the fishing's going out there below the dam right now? I'm planning on heading out there in a couple of weeks to try some cats and walleye.

From Wisconsin, fished lake for first time. Fished 1/21 to 1/25. On 1/21 fished from 9 am to 6:30 pm. Caught 2 eyes, 17" and 19". On 1/22 fished from 7am till 12 pm, caught 2 eyes , 18 1/4" and 17 3/4". Went back out from 3 pm till 6:30 pm, ended up with 1 eye 23 1/2". On 1/23 fished frm 7am till 12 pm, no fish. Went back out 3 pm to 6:15pm, no fish. On 1/24 only fished 3 pm to 6:30 pm . Moring too windy 50 mph winds. Ended up with no fish. On 1/25 fished from 7 am to 6:30 pm. Caught 2 eyes, 17 1/2" and 19". Fished LaGrace 8' of water in trees and Joans 11' to 14' of water. Best action on deadsticks or jigging, buckshot rattle spoons with glow backs tipped with live fathead minnow 1' to 2' off bottom. Fishing conditions would change due to water movement (current) or raising level. Hard to find active fish in changeing conditions. My thanks to Jack Volk at West Pollock Resort, will be back next year because you don't know unless you go.
