FISHING REPORT
11/22/10 7:51 AM CST
Conditions: Partly Sunny Air Temp: 51° - 55° F Water Temp: 46° - 50° F
Today we had the pleasure of fishing with 3 generations of the Fred Zink family. The Zink's are notorius for developing the finest game calls and decoys for the avid hunters worldwide. We headed out to the nothwest corner of Kelleys Island in hopes of catching big fall walleyes. We set our lines back 25-35 on our shallow side and 90-120 feet back using all reefrunner deep divers in grey ghost, blue moon eye, and perch naked. It took a while for the fish to go but when they started we pulled some nice walleyes in the 4-9 pound range and ended up catching 15. With lots of jokes and spending the day with Gunner and the The Zink's we had another great day with lots of laughs and very good walleye fishing.

FISHING REPORT

Conditions: Cloudy Air Temp: 41° - 45° F Water Temp: 46° - 50° F
Today we had all intentions to head back to Pelee Island with my good friends with the Dr. Bob Moore Group from Hicksville Hospital. When we started out things looked pretty good but as we got between Kelleys and Middle Island waves were 4-6 feet and bigger. We decided it was too rough to go another 15 miles, so we headed over to the east side (out of the wind) of Kelleys Island in 39 feet of water off the airport and caught real nice perch and our limit. We have a walleye trip tommorrow so we will give a complete report Monday evening.

Well we headed out today with some seasoned veterans and headed over to Pelee for some jumbo perch and after the fog lifted and a light east wind picked up the perch started biting and we really caught some nice fish. After we caught our limit of 150 we headed back to around Ballast Island for some hog walleye trolling and we were 2 for 3. Trolled stick baits in purple perch, naked perch and pink panties naked. We caught our fish at 50-60 feet off the boards.

My best friend came to visit from Tampa FL, Dan Mills and I have been friends since grade school and he got a chance to perch fish with us the past two days in Canada, Pelee Island. We fished the same spot 4 miles due east of the helo pad and caught our limit both days, 180 perch yesterday and 150 perch today. We had some 13 inch perch the last two and almost all were jumbo's. Tryed walleye fishn also today with no luck east of Ballast Island in 36 feet of water trolling stickbaits.

Today the plan was to catch jumbo perch Pelee Island again (hard to perch fish anywhere else) we were due east, 4 miles from the Channel Markers on the northeast corner of this magnificent island. We caught our 4 person limit in 2 hours and only threw back a handful. The walleye are also starting to bite East of Ballist Island off middle bass. We will be fishing every day this week including our weekend if the weather holds out.

FISHING REPORT

Conditions: Sunny Air Temp: 51° - 55° F Water Temp: 46° - 50° F

With two good weather days behind us an with a light southwest wind forecast we headed back out to Pelee Island (Grub Reef). The big perch started hitting and we limited in a few hours. We really caught some quality perch using tri-rigs tipped with lake shiners one crank up off the bottom. And by the way we did get checked by the Canadian DNR for license and fish count 1rst time I've ever been checked.

FISHING REPORT
11/3/10 5:49 AM CST
Conditions: Cloudy Air Temp: 46° - 50° F
Yesterday was a great day for a boat ride fishing was horrible, we moved 7 times with not much to show for. We headed out to the North east corner of Pelee Island Canada in search of Jumbo Perch. It was ideal conditions light winds from the East and water clairity was OK. We struggled moved around to three spots here than decided to go to ole reliable sheridan point on the west side of Pelee and caught a handful of perch. The water temp is 50 degrees and has dropped 4-5 degrees since last week so we believe that the lake is turning over, however we are heading back out today so hopefully we will have a better report tonight.

The winds have been brutal, all of the chores are done so the thoughts of big perch and walleyes are what we are looking forward to. The really big perch have showed up and the North end of Pelee Island is were we will be. The walleye continue to migrate back into the Huron Basin and also around Kelley's Island heading for the Bass Islands. As soon as we get a have way calm day we will be out there and have no plans to pull the boat out untill we have to, hopefully early December like we did last year.

We had a great squad of guys today from Northern KY who all were Vietnam Veterans and we were proud to have them aboard. We headed out to North Bass Island due to strong southwest winds we had to duck behind the islands. The perch were there but we moved 6-7 times and could not get any pattern togeather. Worked the drop offs, worked the flats, so we decided to move over to Kelly's for a last ditch effort. We ended up catching 53 perch, some were real nice size but just not enough. The crew was wonderful and they reassured us they would be back again, we thanked them for everything and most of all fighting for our freedom

The perch fishing could not be any better than today. We headed back out to Pelee Island again and perch fished at Sheridan Point reef and limited out in a short amount of time. We used tri-rigs tipped with lake shiners on the bottom. Dave Woollman caught a 14 inch perch today the largest perch on board the Drifter this year. We headed down to Middle Island in search for some walleyes but only landed 1 using worm harnesses on the bottom.

Today we headed over to Pelee Island Canada and fishing was too good! We started off perch fishing north of the Wagon Wheel Reef and it couldn't have been any better. We caught perch up to 13.5 inches and average size today was 10 inches. We limited out and headed to the west side of Middle Island and began casting for walleyes. It didn't take long we caught 7 walleyes all good size and one huge smallmouth bass casting weapons gold blades tipped with night crawlers
