Another great day off walleye fishing yesterday for Clint Smith and crew. We started in 19 fow in front of crane creek and trolled to the intake pulling fish the whole way. Later in the day, I found a hungry pod of fish and kept trolling circles until we finished our 36 fish limit. Most fish were between 16-18 inches but we had a few in the 24-26" range as well. All fish were caught on rattle tots and rip shads. Unless I get a call, this will be my last walleye trip until September. My next 7 trips are all perch trips. This has been an awesome year of walleye fishing! I was just looking back at my books and have caught my customer's limit of fish 24 of my last 27 trips and two of the times we didn't limit, we were just a couple fish short. Most people think May or June are the best walleye months, but I limited out every trip in July and 6 of those days were casting trips. A special thanks to all of my customers for helping to make this season one we will all remember. Football practice starts tomorrow so i will only be fishing weekends until next June. Even though fishing was good all year I am ready for a break because the waves, sun, 3:15 am wake up calls and pressure of catching fish takes a toll on your body. Many groups have already rebooked for next year, but if you haven't, please do so ASAP so I can make sure I can find an open date for you.
FYI, I forgot to reset the date on the camera after changing the batteries so that's why the dates are not correct.
