Just returned home from a trip to the western basin. Friday we fished in between S. Bass and Rattle. Picking away at them for 12 on the day. Pulled cranks at 1.6 mph. Wonderbread reef runners seemed to work the best.

Saturday, we headed out to West Reef, and bagged 24 fish pulling harnesses at 1.4 mph. Blue/pink/white seemed to be the best color. 2 oz weights. However were had one guy pulling a 4 oz bb and hooked quite a few.

Sunday, although was the calmest of our days....was the toughest fishing for us. Hit West Reef again, but only picked out 10 eyes. Harnesses again. Headed up to the north side of North Bass, and didn't hit any fish. On the way back to Catawba, we stopped near the rock pile on the South side of South Bass...but didn't produce anything but sheeps.

Rob Dane and the rest of his WI crew were in town over the weekend and the walleye didn't disappoint. We had great fishing both days. Yesterday, we fished near Rattlesnake Island and while the bite was a little slow, we ended up with 23 fish with the biggest going almost 29" with many other 25"+ fish. Today, we fished near D can and absolutely smoked the eyes. We had our 36 fish limit by 9:00. Colorado blade harnesses and stinger spoons were both very productive. Although we didn't weigh our fish, I am very confident we had near 100 lbs of fish each day. I am oping this weekend was the kick off to a great summer of fishing.

Ryan

We had 2 boats that fished from May 4-10. We boated 177 walleyes with most ranging from 25-29 inches with 3 over 30. We ran crawlers with inline weights of 2oz and 3 oz 25-40ft back using silver or gold blades. Fish started out South/West of Rattle Snake then moved between Green and South Bass. It was not fast and furious, you would hit pods if fish and pick up 2-3 then nothing. Overall a great week on the water

fished may 2,3,4. Slow to no bite off wild wings with the crowds in 12 fow using jigs, so switched to harnesses and hammered them in high seas on Saturday on one of the reefs until the boat had issues and we had to limp back to port. 17 to 24 inchers.
