FISHING REPORT

Ice Depth: 17" Conditions: Partly Sunny Air Temp: 36° - 40° F
Fished a for two days on Dry lake last weekend with a few buddies. Caught about 60-70 walleyes and mixed in about 30 northerns. Everything came on tip-ups as we couldn't catch anything jigging. Walleyes were from 10-27 inches, with the majority of them being 13-15 inches. The biggest walleyes we caught came right around noon on each day. The pike were good pickling size, 2-3 pounds. The biggest Northern was 6-7 lbs. Not much fishing pressure where we were, but there were people fishing a lot of other spots on the lake. Had a camera down all weekend by my jig pole and never even saw a fish, never marked a fish on vexilar either. Did a lot of hole hopping and didn't have a bite, not sure what I was doing wrong.

The fish are biting this year and no snow. The ice down the center of the lake and lots of other areas was very late to freeze. Be careful out there

Dry Lake is fat with large walleyes and northern pike. We have a very large year class from 2009 and 2010 for walleyes they are 14 to 17 inches. Lots of limits going home. Almost no cormorants on the lake. Controlling the nesting habitat worked!

The water is very close to the level of 1997. Fishing is great. It's nice to see the cycle at this stage again.

Fishing was poor. snow cover average of 15 inch. You need a snomobile to get around. Try again in March.
