FISHING REPORT
6/12/13 6:53 PM CST
Conditions: Sunny Air Temp: 76° - 80º F
Took the niece and nephew to Lake Darling, fished off the fishing piers in the park. Used a smelt and caught a couple of pike in the 2 or 3 pound range.

Sorry! That last message was for Tody. If you are in Williston, I would stick with the Missouri river system. It dumps into Lake Sakakawea. White Earth, N.Dak has some of the best walleye fishing, along with Van Hook Arm. Big water, but it has big fish in there also. No to mention decent sauger. Good luck.

Walleyeslayer22....I grew up in Minot, and will be returning there in May 2011. Lake Darling is about 15 miles northwest of Minot. I used to fish it through the ice often and had great success with jumbo perch. Waleyes were regular in summer months trolling the shorelines. I plan on being on that water no later than June of this year, to try it like old times. Been in Wisconsin for the last 18 yrs (Stevens Point) but heading back to Minot this spring. Good luck fishing.

If you are looking for some up to date fishing reports you should go to fishingbuddy.com many people post on that site and tell you where they are catching them. I used to use this site when I lived in Milwaukee but apparently north dakotians dont use this site. Well, good luck fishing. See ya out on the ice (most likely on beaver bay)

I agree Big Stevie. Its amazing more people don't use this awesome site. Anyway I love chasing jumbo perch, I'm usually chasing them all over Chequamegon Bay on Lake Superior. But i live in williston now. I hear that darling is a good bet for some perch action. Its closer to me than devils lake, so i was thinking about making a trip to there soon. How far is it from Minot? Where do u go on the lake? any info much appreciated. Hopefully someone will respond sometime this year! Smile

Used to fish here often through the ice. Would go approx 3 miles north off the #3 landing. Caught some huge jumbo perch there, with a few walleyes ranging in the 18" to 20" range. Was wondering if anyone still hits this area on a regular basis, and whats the status?
