MOON PHASE (2%)
Waning Crescent

CONDITIONS
Cloudy

AIR TEMP
66° - 70° F

WATER TEMP
51° - 55° F

Fished several hours before the storms came. the bass turned on just about an hour right before it started raining. We caught several on a secondary point with the wind blowing in on it. They seemed to really like a red crankbait. After the rain and lighting let up the fishing went down the hill for us.

Super windy today!!! It was so nice outside however the fish did not cooperate with us. I think tomorrow they will be on like crazy. Just a gut feeling but something that I hope happens. We fished the windy side of the lake and the shad are starting to stack up so that should make things happen. Fished Sq bills and spinnerbaits today . They just were not hungry today I guess tomorrow will be a better day.

the wind was blowing the white off of the white caps. The fishing was not bad for the conditions. We went out around 1:00 and the first secondary point we stopped at we caught a nice keeper around 3 lbs. on a sq bill. Then with the winds help I wrapped a cable and lost my bait. we moved on down the bank catching a couple of shorts. In the back of a shallow cove I caught our second keeper just a little smaller than the first one. Moving on to another secondary. I was using a jerk bait and caught a huge blue gill and another short bass. The wind was blowing 25 at least and we moved on. We went on to another pocket cove and caught several shorts and then on the secondary my partner caught 2 on two casts that weighed about 2.5 each on a sq bill. We fished our way out of the cove and I had to go in. We fished 3 hours and had 5 keepers and several shorts not a bad day.   Came in and set by the fire to warm up.

A cold front had been hanging around like forever. It finally moved out during the night and the temp rose.Today another front was due to arrive and arrive it did. Around 11:30 it seemed to drop about 15 degrees in 15 seconds. Along with the cooler weather a real good rain storm came right along with it.  Burr it did not feel good so home I went.. We had caught a few bass on jigs before the weather change but not enough to stay out in my opinion.   We sure could use some stable weather....

Fished the first time in a couple of weeks due to back surgery. the fishing was great the catching part not so good. It was the first time in several weeks that we had a blue shy. I think this really had a effect on the fishing. We had a good trend going and now we have snow in the forecast for tomorrow Easter Sunday.    We caught some real nice Crappie and a couple of bass but nothing to get excited about for sure.  I cant fish today but We have cloud cover and a north wind .With the forecast for tomorrow I do believe they will be biting this afternoon.

It is big fish time of the year so fish anytime you get a chance...

Fishing sucked the past few days and the catching wasn't any better. fish with Jacob and Amy Craig from ST.Louis and we started out yesterday in a rainstorm that soon turned into a snow storm. We did catch a few bass but none of any size. All the fish yesterday was on a jerk bait.

Today the air temp was going to be better the weatherman said. Well it didn't snow but it sure was a cold one with clouds at start then bright blue later . Cold front anyone... The fishing was tough we caught a few crappie and a few bass but again nothing to brag about.

Took some gentleman this morning and caught a limit of crappie. The fish were shallow and eager to eat. Their problem is the fisherman are eager to eat them. So to make long story short the next time they are released it will be in lake Crisco. They are dropping the lake however the fish still seem to be on the banks.

Good time for sure!

Caught a few bass on jerk baits and all of the crappie on jigs.

Fished yesterday afternoon for a couple of hours with some really fine young men. They are in the learning stage on bass fishing and we had a little lesson on suspending jerk bait fishing.  The boys are eager to learn and caught some bass and even a nice fat keeper.

The bass are on secondary wind blow points and if there is bait fish there they are willing to bite. The bite is light and they want the bait dead still. big crappie are also hitting this same pattern and are usually 12 inches or bigger. The water color on this end of the lake is still good but it seems to be getting stained a little more as the recent rains has muddied up the upper lake and it is moving down. Fishing slow is the best pattern.

Mr Crappie showed me how it was done today. We fished for about an hour and caught a few bass then we moved into a wind blow pocket. Well the rest is history Mr Crappie my good friend Mike caught the heck out of big jumbo crappie. Mike caught all of them on a old school crappie jig and catch them was a understatement. He caught his limit and then was culling for about an hour.  Good time for sure and a Happy Birthday for my good friend.

The crappie bite is fair to good. They are dropping the lake and the fish are moving away from the banks and suspending.. I can't believe they were on the banks a week ago with water temps in the low to mid 40s. They will bite a jig fished slow above the tops of brush or chunk rock. I have several that are going to get released back in the lake but several that are going for their final swim in lake Crisco with their cornmeal coat on.   The bass bite is OK but catching a good one is tough for me right now.... Got to figure them out soon.
