Fished 04-25 and 04-26. Lots and Lots of guys fishing coves/banks. Water temps looked really close to spawn yet the majority of the largest fish were still staging over deep water chasing shad. Find the bait balls, get bites!

Employing a system no one else really does out here is something we like to do. Being from way up north, we get alot of silly looks from the locals while trolling. But I wonder how many of them locals are catching limits of 12-15" crappies? Our biggest for the 2 days was 15.5" white crappie and it was a male, followed by a 14.750". We didnt keep any fish under 10.5" and only had maybe 7-8 fish we threw back under 10.5" Plenty of drum, catfish, largemouth and whitebass also.

Trolling hardbaits. And they were choking them down. Great time!

Had a Crappie trip today . They are really moving to the spawning banks. We caught them on hair jigs in 4 to 8 feet of water. Good time for sure . Did not fish for bass today but expect them to be going good real good soom..The guys kept a good mess of fish but threw many many back in.

Fished for a few hours mid day today and it was tough. Caught aa couple on a jerk bait but could not get bit on anything else. There are boats everywhere as this is the weekend for the big bass bash. Be careful out there some of them are crazy...

Fished this morning and caught some crappie and some bass. We had to fish our buts off but we did catch the crappie on a chunk rock bank on a jig. the bass we caught on a spinnerbait on a wind blow flat.

Caught a few bass on a spinnerbait tonight. We had one up to the boat that looked impressive only to throw the bait at the last second.  That's the way it goes the big ones always get away.  The cold front that came in seemed t5o help fishing .

Fished again last evening. Caught a few on the corners of docks in the backs of coves. The fish were hitting a spinnerbait. The wind is blowing from the north as a cold front passed through this morning. It is sunny and I hope the fish are biting better today.

The time has to be near for the big ones to bite. Full moon the 29th some of the big girls surely will make the move.

Fished several hours before the storms came. the bass turned on just about an hour right before it started raining. We caught several on a secondary point with the wind blowing in on it. They seemed to really like a red crankbait. After the rain and lighting let up the fishing went down the hill for us.

Super windy today!!! It was so nice outside however the fish did not cooperate with us. I think tomorrow they will be on like crazy. Just a gut feeling but something that I hope happens. We fished the windy side of the lake and the shad are starting to stack up so that should make things happen. Fished Sq bills and spinnerbaits today . They just were not hungry today I guess tomorrow will be a better day.

the wind was blowing the white off of the white caps. The fishing was not bad for the conditions. We went out around 1:00 and the first secondary point we stopped at we caught a nice keeper around 3 lbs. on a sq bill. Then with the winds help I wrapped a cable and lost my bait. we moved on down the bank catching a couple of shorts. In the back of a shallow cove I caught our second keeper just a little smaller than the first one. Moving on to another secondary. I was using a jerk bait and caught a huge blue gill and another short bass. The wind was blowing 25 at least and we moved on. We went on to another pocket cove and caught several shorts and then on the secondary my partner caught 2 on two casts that weighed about 2.5 each on a sq bill. We fished our way out of the cove and I had to go in. We fished 3 hours and had 5 keepers and several shorts not a bad day.   Came in and set by the fire to warm up.

A cold front had been hanging around like forever. It finally moved out during the night and the temp rose.Today another front was due to arrive and arrive it did. Around 11:30 it seemed to drop about 15 degrees in 15 seconds. Along with the cooler weather a real good rain storm came right along with it.  Burr it did not feel good so home I went.. We had caught a few bass on jigs before the weather change but not enough to stay out in my opinion.   We sure could use some stable weather....
