Had a sow evening last night until just about dark. We caught several short bass and a couple of keepers but then got into some Hybrids just at dark.. i really think we were late to the spot where they were chasing shad so going a little earlier tonight.  Catching fish on a Whopper Plopper and a Sammy . The fish are chasing shad in the backs of coves.

Caught several bass on a SqBill today.. We found the fish in the back of a windy cove that was loaded with shad.  We fished a little creak ditch and the bass seemed to like being just a little deeper. Most of the water was less than two feet but the fish were coming biting in the ditch which was around four feet deep.   All of you guys that read this it was not the golf course hole...The lake is down and there is not enough water back their to cover their backs.

Everyone have a great day and good fishing!

Fished the shallow water pattern this morning with little success. we did catch a couple of good ones but the shallow bite just was not there. We then fished the deeper docks that have been real good as late and the fish bit but they were small. all in all the fishing was slow for the weather conditions. Fished a drop shot and caught a few but not as usual.. The shad were scattered and I think that was some of the issue.

Been catching numbers but not lots of big fish. The fish are in a changing mode and are here one day and gone the next.. Lots of bait fish everywhere so the food source is great.. They can have a mouth full just about anytime they want. Once in a while you will catch a good one but it is not easy to do..

The big bass bash is this weekend and the biggest bass will be just a little over 7 I say.. Whoever catches that one will earn a Seventy Thousand Dollars. That's a bunch of pocket change..

I say fish a big tandom leaf spinnerbait or a Sq bill shallow and just cover lots of water.....

Another good day on the lake.. The fish are chasing shad on the big docks if there is wind or windy points. You can catch them on a Whopper plopper ,Sq bill or spinnerbait.

Caught a bunch of dinks and some nice ones this evening...Caught them on a whopper plopper, Drop shot and a ten inch worm.. Had a terrible morning bite but the evening bite seemed to have made up for it. Fished with a nice guy Jeff from northern Illinois he made life good for me.   Thanks We didn't catch any Molly's but at least 30 bass with several keepers mixed in.. Always a good time catching fish chasing shad on a drop shot....

Went out this morning for a little while and caught several bass on a Sq Bill crankbait. We are fishing in the shallow flats and moving the lure at a real fast pace. I got broke off on a big fish that was laying in a ditch on a flat. Went out to try fishing the ledges but the fish were there but refusing to eat.  It is going to be a hot one here at the lake today. Hope to get out this evening and see if the bite is better. It hasn't been  the past few days..
