Conditions: Cloudy Air Temp: 51° - 55° F Water Temp: 51° - 55° F
Hit West Rush this morning before the wind really picked up. Water temp ranged from 50.2 to 51.7. Fish still very neutral, most fish were caught dragging jig and minnow, bites were not aggressive at all..they were just there. Water has cleared up well.

Ice Depth: 8" Conditions: Cloudy Air Temp: 31° - 35° F
Fished from 545am to 645pm. Crappies and perch were biting all day. As long as we were in 24' or deeper they were active. Me and a friend both got our limits. We had to catch about ten 9" to get one worth keeping. Around 930 we started hole jumping and pulled out a 16" walleye in 27 fow. It was a great day on the lake. Once the snow started falling around sunset the bigger crappies really started coming in fast. The best bite happened the 2 hours around sunrise. The minnows werent working as well as wax worms and a well presented jig.

My goal was to catch anything that bit. Pike or Bass. The water is terribly stained. Can't see the lure when pulling it in. It's a Nice lake with lots of holes. The west has islands and plenty of reeds/pads, the east is a big circle. Fishing was almost non-existent. Had a few hits but they missed the lure. Probably due to the scuzzy green water. Lots of shore surfers (pontoons) and weekend powerboats pulling kids on tubes. So the lake can get busy on weekends for sure. Pretty lake. The cement ramps on both east and west are both in great condition with docks. Plenty of parking on both lots.

Ice Depth: 18" Conditions: Night Time
Went out Sunday night after dark trying to fish before the snow storm came. Went to the same spot we limited out every time at last year within hours. Caught 3 real nice sized crappies, and had a chance at probably 10 more but the bite was so light it was hard to hook them. They wouldn't take the bobber all the way down. May have been the time but this year has been much different than last year

FISHING REPORT

Conditions: Cloudy
Enjoyed the trip to this fine lake. Two husband and wife boats that picked six locations on the lake and found fish in them all. The 1st fish of the day went as a nice largemouth (leech-live bait rig). Then one boat found a nice spot for walleyes using minnow rigs while the other boat discovered some bluegill action using float rigs with crawlers. After a brief visit back to the walleye hole and a quick trip back to shore. The boats found action along an island using live bait crawlers, leeches, minnows and some artificial. Perch, walleyes, bluegills and bass were discovered in the location.

Nice lake for a visit with some good action of several small eyes. Can not remember the last time I went through so much live bait.

Ice Depth: 24" Conditions: Night Time Air Temp: 0° - 5° F
Went out last weekend, fished in 34 FOW. We were fishing in 20-24 FOW, lots of color on the Vexlar, tough bite. Put a few hours on the ice, but came away with a limit of 9 and 10 inch fish.

Hi to ALL ! We just signed on and are excited to learn and share info on fishing reports. So, my first question is, How is the walleye/crappie fishing typically on the rush lakes. We have not had the chance to explore this area and are wondering if it's worth looking at. Any positive feedback would be much appreciated! GOOD FISHING !!!

Fished West Rush on 12/31/09 and 01/01/10. Caught a decent amount of gills and crappie in 15 - 20 FOW. Waxies seemed to produce better than plastics.

The ice is out on West and East Rush as of last Fri.. People are fishing for crappies on the north end with limited success. Smile
