FISHING REPORT

Conditions: Sunny Air Temp: 66° - 70° F
Went out fishing the Rochester area storm drain ponds last Saturday the 10th. Crappies were hitting worms under a slip bobber quite readily. Caught a sucker as well. Managed to limit out on crappie within 45 minutes.

All rochester lakes have this 10 panfish with 5 can be crappie and you can't catch your limit on one lake and limit out on another the same day. Effort to have better fish and prevent overfishing.

I have fished silver before due to reports of crappie. Never found them but perch were decent sized.

MN DNR FISH LIMITS PULLED OFF WEBSITE SEASONS AND LIMITS—INLAND WATERS continued CRAPPIE Continuous 10 SUNFISH* Continuous 20 (either or combined) *(bluegill, pumpkinseed, green, orangespotted, longear, warmouth, and their hybrids)

IceFishBaby, unless that lake has it's own rules you can keep 20 gill, etc and 10 crappies. They are not counted together, they each have seperate limits. I been having an awesome year in the south metro (Apple Valley, Burnsville, Prior area) and that's what I been keeping on my good days.

I hope I'm right or glad I didn't get busted.

Ice Depth: 13" Conditions: Snowing Air Temp: 26° - 30° F
I was out on Silver Creek reservoir yesterday from 10-2 and caught quite a few fish. Only 9 keeper perch and a big gill. No crappies for me but another guy had a few nice crappies on the ice.

If there's any special way to put those crappies on the hook please share.

Probably make it out again Sunday or Monday.

Good luck.

Ice Depth: 7" Conditions: Sunny Air Temp: 36° - 40° F Water Temp: Below 40° F
Tried WIllow Creek-north of of the airport. Went from 4-6 and only caught small ones. Some small gills and two small crappie. One guy had about 7 gills on the ice. Remember, limit is 10 panfish per day, only 5 of which can be crappie.

May get out again this weekend-maybe try another spot though. We'll see. Hard to motivate after not one keeper.

Wondering if people are getting out in Rochester.  I know backwaters of Mississippi is fishable.  Want to get out this week.  Weather is not helping out much, but just wondering if anyone is getting out.

Ice Depth: 9" Conditions: Cloudy Air Temp: 11° - 15° F
I dusted off my Wisconsin fishing license and my third pole for some ice fishing down in Stoddard with my friend Andy this weekend. The fishing was pretty darn good once we figured out the hot color. We fished from 12:30-4:30 in 7 fow, it took a bit of sorting, but we managed to put together a pretty good pile of fish. Lots of people out there as usual, but we found a pretty empty spot to set up. It was good to find some active fish through the ice finally.

whats up guys, me and two buddies hit the backwaters around Winona after classes today. I was out there from 4 til dark and caught 20 gills. Very nice size which was a nice surprise, ice up to 6 inches in spots but didn't venture very far from shore. Found fish at bottom with vex in 6-8 ft. of water. Kept 6 for a meal released the rest. Awesome first outing.

Ice Depth: 2" Conditions: Sleeting
Went out around Winona backwaters both Saturday and Sunday. Front shut down the fish-marked many on the locator. One place we went-5 inches of ice. The other, 1-2 inches so we fishing from docks. Be safe, fishing is not great-for sure not worth the risk of going in. Only fish caught were a few gills. No flags.
