Most lakes from Duluth south into Pine County have extremely high water conditions with some in the Carlton and Pine counties along the larger rivers have had some amount of debri and new hazards to watch for. Moosehead Lake, HangingHorn Lake had extreme flooding with some local heath warnings. Moosehead Lake had a lot of items floating and submerged Doc's, Picnic tables and camping items as well as lawn items and even campers have been swept into this lake. Please be very careful navagating. For the most part fishing is improving and water clarity is improving as well. Panfish are doing well in the shallows with high numbers of Crappies hanging on the outer edges of weedlines trolling with small plastics or hair jigs is crazy for both. Walleye bite in this area has been slow because of the heavy flooding but improving and most fish are in the 30 foot range in these local clear lakes. Crawlers and Rigs are it. Pike and Bass have been biting very good. There hitting just about anything thats moving. Lake of the Woods was great this last weekend with lots of fish being caught right out side Pine Island in the 20-24 foot range on Gold Spinners with Crawlers & Pulling Crank baits. The Reefs have been producing very high numbers as well. Wish I had more for you right now but its been a mess here. Happy Hook Sets!
