FISHING REPORT
9/3/13 5:49 PM CST
Conditions: Sunny Air Temp: 71° - 75° F Water Temp: 71° - 75° F
August 30th through September 2. Friday the bass fishing was very good. Caught a few 3 pounders and several other fish. Saturday morning the bite seemed to be off and Saturday afternoon the front came through with heavy rain and wind. Saturday night 4 of us decided to see if somebody could hook a musky and within 20 minutes one of the guys boated a 48" fish. It was caught on a 1 ounce Northland spinnerbait. Sunday was windy and cold and we stayed off the lake. Monday as the temperature got warmer, the fish started to bite including two 4 pounders and a few other fish. I could not get a bass to bite a jig. Nothing on a spinnerbait in the reeds either.

July 4th weekend. A bit late on this report but it's still useful as the largemouth are definitely in their summer pattern. This is a tough lake to fish for bass on deep weed edges because there are so many small pike in this lake and some big ones too and it's frustrating when you have lure after lure bitten off. So I fished shallow and found some nice fish in and around docks. There were also a couple of fish in the reeds, although smaller ones and some good fish off of some brush piles. I exclusively fished with a Northland Dipstick on a Northland Lipstick 3/16 oz hook and a Booyah jig with a Northland trailer. I didn't catch a lot over the weekend, but enough good ones to make the outings worthwhile. There are some smallmouth in this lake, but not in big numbers. I did not catch any smallmouth.

July 7: My son and his friend went out for sunnies after dinner and threw into pockets of the pads and caught 16 fish in about 35 minutes. They were using a slip bobber with a small leech.

July 5-8. I have caught some nice fish on this lake and this weekend was no different although I didn't catch anything over 5 pounds. The smallest fish I caught was 2 pounds. I fished alot of docks, reeds and did throw some frogs in pads and laid down grass. The water level is high and the best luck I had was up against brush piles in very tight cover. The bait, a craw tube with a 3/8 oz. sinker. The docks produced fish on Northland Dipsticks on a 3/16 oz. Northland Lipstick hook and docks also produced with a jig/pig. Fished a jig/pig, craw tube and Dipstick in the reeds and caught only a couple of fish. I did not even get a blow up in the pads or the grass. The fishing was not fast and furious, but there were enough hook ups to keep one interested.

June 25, 2012. Only fished a couple of hours on this lake as that is all that time permitted. My friend was targeting pike and caught several small pike. He had fished the lake yesterday and caught a couple of 5 pounders. Pike generally are not trophy size in this lake, but you can catch a bunch of them everywhere. As for largemouth bass, I fished the weeds in 5-8 feet of water and had zero luck. Probably because I was allowing my friend to have some pike action. This lake does hold some nice bass as my 3 biggest bass in my life have all come from this lake. Each one over 6 pounds.
