...fished East Pond for a few hours this evening...as usual, MASS amounts of LM Bass & panfish ('gills, crappie, perch). No quality fish, just numbers...an EXCELLENT place to bring kids and teach them how to fish. No patience required here!

Teichin 6969...... If you haven't been here in that many years, you will be heartbroken if you try for walleye here anymore. These ponds used to be the best walleye fishing I have ever experienced, however, times have changed. Ponds are overrun with small bass and bluegill. There are still walleye in here, but NOTHING NEAR what it used to be! Good Luck!

Fished the ponds Friday and Saturday. Caught dozens of small Bass and small blue gills. The Bass way too small to keep and the blue gills were all 3 inches. In most places you could get out and walk on the clouds of Bluegills. Are there any Crappies to be had here ? Sad

Been making the four plus hour trip up a couple times a year for maybe 6 years. The fishing isn't what it was when it was a real challenge. What I really enjoyed is during the week it was like a little Canada... Loons, decent fishing and isolated. Wish I was lucky enough to live in the area to have more time to look for another water like this... guess I'll be on the search the next couple trips.

Ice Depth: 10"
All i can say is that with all the improvements to the roads and boat launches is that it will make it easier for people to access the lakes. Anytime they make it easier for access the fishing goes way down. Alot of people i know liked that it was rural and hard to get to lakes. Doesn't anybody like a challenge anymore. It was a little piece of heaven to some but i guess everybody wants the easiest way. Sad Sad Sad Sad Sad They might as well fill them up with carp. At least there will be something to catch in the ponds!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

FISHING REPORT

Ice Depth: 6" Conditions: Snowing Air Temp: 11° - 15° F
I fished the west pond today for about 2 hours. Could not buy a bite! Then fished the North pond. There were about 10 to 15 people on the ice. Still, I could not buy a bite. I saw fish on the vexilar and could get them to rise up to the bait but couldn't make them go. I could see other people catching fish but not me. I tried waxies, plastics, gulp, minnows, spoons, and puppet minnow. NOTHING WORKED! I don't like fishing too close to others so I was maybe 25 yards away from the nearest shack. I was basically in the same area as the majority of the fishermen. I drilled maybe 12 holes and tried 22 - 18 fow. Why did I not catch any fish? Please help! Sad

i agree billy i love the ponds even tho they dont produce like they used to. i would love the road to be a lil easier travlin but like everyone who knows theese ponds well we all kinda are scared for more ppl to be fishn em. it would be hard to over fish them i think because of the amount of cover but like i said there is still concern. also one thing kinda a pointer normal methods are not usauly practical like trolling in here lol i tryed and it was lots of trees coming in to the boat not many feesh. lol
