Is the ice all melted? We are coming there last week in May. Also does anyone know if the lake is up or down at this time? thanks for any response.

A friend of mine was out fishing yesterday and told me there was 6" to 9" out where he was fishing. Still use caution as the ice is going to vary in different areas as there is heavier currents in different places.

Myself and my girlfriend fished on Saturday, August 3rd. The water level is at almost full pool. It's been that way since the opener on May 15th. We caught somewhere between 12 and 15 walleye with none being legal. We caught rock bass, smallmouth bass and northerns. We ran into some very nice perch. We ended up keeping 3 bluegill and 10 perch.

I am heading up next week. Does anyone have a report or an update on water conditions. I mainly fish the western portion or the deer river area.

BUGS ARE BAD. Bring plenty of bug spray. Some locales claim they have never seen it this bad.
