This was my first time at Lake Wakeland. I chose to camp here for a tubing trip on Sugar Creek so I figured I would pull the boat along just in case I find the time. Turned out to be a trip saver!
It rained every night and morning we were there so the tubing got canceled due to water hazards
Went out Friday evening for a few hours and realized this was a pretty small lake (380 acres) not to have a H.P. restriction. Ended up with four 14-15 inchers on a crankbait. Since the tube trip was cancelled I decided to give it another wack Saturday Night. I fished for Bass and my partner fished for gills and redear. Awesome fishing I have to say. Had I been fishing a tourney I think I could have won it with a six fish bag that would have gone around 20lbs. A few on the crank
and the rest came on a texas rigged chigger craw. All and all this is a great Lake to fish and a good place to camp with or without the family.
