Well lets put it this way, if you are ever looking for a report about Indiana, forget it. Never will it be there when you want it nor will it be on time or even about the fish you want. The folks in Indiana think they are the only people in the world that can fish and so do not want anyone fishing in Indiana that dont belong there! To make a long story shorter....Don't look her for any advice for fishing.....EVER! Sad

Hi archer3684,

When did you guys catch those steelheads?

During Summer (after June) or just recently?

I'm planning to go to trail creek to check if there's any steelheads swimming up already.

Thanks!

Try fishing Creek Ridge county park. My son and I were at route 20 just south of 20 on Trail Creek. He caught his first steelhead there and I have hooked 2 at Creek ridge county park. They are running up and down the stream in the deeper pools. Try Spawn sacs, worms or shrimp. My oldest son and I are going to the pier tomorrow morning weather permitting. Smile

Went out last night Wednesday and skies were clear and the weather was great!!! Unfortunately, the jumping fish that were everywhere were not hungry because no one got so much as a bump bite. Threw spoons and rattle body baits and not so much as a look. I checked with several people and nothing going on that evening... Is it a morning only bite out at MC pier??? I wonder... Dull Dull Dull

Went out Saturday the 21st from 6pm to 11pm. Wind out of the north shut down everything. No one was even getting a bump on the pier or by the yacht club. Lousy night... Angry

Fished the pier Tuesday night from 5:30 to 9:00. I had 2 fish on but lost both of them. One was a steelhead and the other a king. Fishing was stopped by the dredging going on in the opening to the lake. Over all not a bad night. Big Smile

Try making the walk out to the pier. Better water and more fish. Its still a little early in the harbor yet but beginning of July should start to pick up pretty good. GREAT FISHING!!! Boats at doing pretty good in 60to 110 get of water depending on day. Much past sixty feet your in Michigan water. Requiring a Michigan license or a 225 fine. Michigan conservation officers have been working this water pretty hard.I know of a couple pe $225ople getting tickets. $225 is what they had to pay!

Guys,

Started my first summer steelhead outing to MC Trailcreek and Harbor. Went into the creeks where I found no fish this morning, although live shoremen reports stated fish being caught in the creeks this morning. I decided to enter the harbor on the side of the DNR where I was the only one to land a 24" steely around the later part of the morning using shrimp. I don't know the harbor area much, but intend to learn some to get them. If anyone else had a good update as to better areas in the harbor to get those silver trains it would be appreciated.

thank you! maskedtrouter
