FISHING REPORT
9/24/12 9:47 AM CST
Conditions: Night Time Air Temp: 51° - 55° F
Went out EARLY Saturday morning.Quite a few fish moving. Ended up catching 2 male chinook,11 & 12 pounders, an 18lb 4oz coho, and 2 small (3-4lb)coho. Fish were moving better when still dark, but the 2 small ones were caught after sunup. Action died after about 8:00am. bigger ones caught on spawn sacks, and smaller on orange and gold cleos. Hadn't seen any reports, so decided to find out for myself. Fish didn't seem to be hanging around, just shooting on through. Good luck to all. Big Smile

Wondering if anyone's been out recently? Word from DNR is fish are moving in but I haven't heard any actual reports from fishermen.

FISHING REPORT
10/7/10 12:40 AM CST
Was out on Salt Creek again Tuesday morning, the Kings are in THICK! They're in there so thick that I snagged 7 Kings while casting spinners for Steelhead (all were released). The Kings really aren't hitting anything, I guess that the urge to spawn is greater than the urge to eat.

Did manage 1 nice steelhead, missed another. I'll be back out in the morning to get the one that I missed, and I'm going to try some fresh spawn for the Kings.

FISHING REPORT
9/28/10 2:29 PM CST
Conditions: Partly Sunny
Went to Salt Creek in Valpo yesterday, just off of Rt. 30, fished from 6:00 A.M. until 11:00 A.M.

Didn't see as many fish as last week, but managed one nice Steelhead, missed others. All fish came on #3 Silver Mepps plain Aglia spinners.

Went out to little cal on 9-13. Nice day to be on the water and that was about it. Went out early saw alot of fish breaking the water. Salmon are definitely in. About 20 other people came and went nobody landed a fish. Tried spinners, spoons, spawn, shrimp, and crawlers along with everyone else that left empty handed. I believe water is still a little warm. A little cool weather or some rain and they will be hittin.

Can anyone provide a little info? Heading home for Christmas and I want to take my brother in-law who will be out from Boston for some steelheading. Is Salt Creek a good choice? Or should I go to Trail Creek? I live in the Madison, WI area now and have never fished the Indiana tribs. Not looking for secrets just a starting place. I've started to do some research but not sure if I should fish closer to the lake or farther inland??

Thanks

Was out there last Saturday 9/14 and had a great day. 3 Salmon, 3 Lakers, and a Rainbow. Only kept 1 salmon and 1 laker which still had eggs in her. All were caught on river spinners. All fish came on different colors.
