Went out on Saturday and just like I advised in the post below ice was 6" around the lake however there is a lot of small spots that are not frozen over with 6" of ice around it and then about 1" about a foot of its edge(dangerous at night). I was prepped for night fishing with 6 other guys and it turned out to be a biggest mistake I have ever done(damn catastrophe). Made a mistake not checking wind conditions as I normally never do for ice fishing only in the summer. Only around 9 o'clock PM when it started getting quite windy we were debating ,if we should start packing for the day. We were with two 4-6 people shacks. Went back to the Shack and decided to put on the safety straps on the shoes as it was getting harder to walk on clear ice. As I was putting a second one on around 10 PM ,win hit so hard the shack broke of the straps that were anchored to the ice and took the whole shelter with the gear in it towards the open water in the middle dragging me along with it , luckily I was able to place my foot down on the ice to hold myself since I had almost both of straps own already.Very little of the gear was found. Chances are everything went into open water and whatever is heavy enough went to the bottom as wind was blowing that direction. Never thought I would experience something like that in my life ,but now I know what could happen. Going back to the shore was almost impossible to walk, but we made it. If anybody finds any of the gear, especially keys. Please PM me I would really appreciate , will be rewarded.
